nani deserves number 7 imo. Valencia has gone from a fearless winger, who never really had a good left foot to a stop strt player who has gone backwards.

Valencia is the worst player at our club. Should be top of the exit list for the summer.

I don't see where he fits in anymore, when on form he is a good player, but far from brilliant. The issue for me is not even the act he played well once all season, it he fact he is so one dimensional and doesn't fit into the new system Fergie is trying to create.

Even if he was on form is sooner see him sold tbh, and I honestly don't see him rediscovering that form.

I still loved that one moment where Valencia looked so confused that he managed to get down the pitch, spin around 360 degrees and free himself because not even the Chelsea defenders could predict his next move - The man seriously is a deer in headlights!

The same player who last season was a machine on the wing, such a shame.
do you think its the mental weight of the shirt?
What other reason is there

Never personally saw the hype in him. He is a severely limited footballer and if he was playing for Liverpool we would be laughing at him all day long. It just unfortunate planing that we find ourselves in a position where we have to rely on him on doing the job for us to play the style we want to play. Fergie did try to go for Lucas and Hazard in the summer but we should have had another plan to preserve the wing threat that we rely on so much.

I don't think the 'weight of the shirt' is a valid excuse Greg-; he's just shìt.

Someone from the MEN suggested Valencia is looking dodgy as his confidence is shot after being dropped in the Manchester derby last April

If he was playing for LFC with the form he showed the past three season no we wouldn't be laughing at him....He deserves the criticism he is getting bbecause he is horribly out of form but people suggesting its the end for him at OT is just insane he will come good again

Ronaldo's getting the number 7 shirt back when he returns

One of those space jam aliens went inside him and took away his talent. He can't even shoot or cross anymore, his shot at goal summed him up yesterday, it was so bad, it was closer to Chelsea's goal then ours.

I am sorry but I don't agree. 'Out of form' excuse cannot apply for the whole season and he has been given more than enough opportunity this season to find his form. He was never a goal threat or someone who liked to alter his style of play to keep the opponents guessing. He was someone who kept his head down and kept repeating the same 2 or 3 moves he has. He has no excuse to not be able to even those few things properly.

Michael Carrick's form dipped for more or less a season after Rome

It can happen

Valencia was immense last season.

Wouldn't write the player off just yet albeit Nani should now be playing ahead of him being in the better form

I don't know if it is simply form. I think he was so influential last season that teams have looked at him and figured out how to stop him.

If you simply stand a yard off him and show him inside, there is literally nothing he can do. It really isn't that difficult to defend against.

I can't see him ever being as effective as he was last season tbh. This isn't just an out of form player - they normally show odd glimpses here and there of what they can do (take an out of form Nani or Rooney for example). This is a player who looks like he just has no idea what he is doing on a football pitch.

I've been saying this all season and been completely ignored. He has certainly been found out. It's amazing that it has taken so long. I would have been able to put Valencia in my back pocket when I was 16.

so how do you explain his poor crossing? his crossing use to be superb and his unwillingness to kick and run?

Players haven't been marking him, they've been marking his right boot

He needs to find a way around it. Let's give him a little time. We know what a lethal player he can be
