I think you are confusing the FFP Rules which apply only to clubs (of any nation) playing in UEFA competitions with the Premier League squad and home grown player quota which applies to only Premier League clubs.
Siempre Rojo aka tenemos diecinueve (U1560)

My bad, blond moment there, but question still applies on home grown players
Hmmmmm. Yes I think you are getting them mixed up. Financial Fair Play rules dont have anything to do with this home grown quota
but stil I understand what you're trying to get at.
I think in a few years time the replacement to the Golden Generation will be superior to them anyway.
I am looking forward to seeing the names you mention up there playing together as first teamers.
Yeh thanks for that Mr C, either way I fear I've pitched the topic a little too high for the majority of readers on here

I think that fact they're not regarded as the golden generation (or our equivalent of the galacticos) might mean we have a team playing to each other's strengths rather than a group of individuals.
The problem is the likes of Adam Johnson who I rate very highly, might stagnate. Man City want to keep him in the squad so they can meet their home grown quota, but that doesnt necessarily mean that hes going to start a lot of games, certainly if last season is anything to go by. The same could well happen with Sturridge if he stays at Chelsea this season.

Looks like a good midfield to me

Bloody good point mate, but I think both have the quality to break into their respective first teams. I really rate both highly (probably Adam Johnson more). I think if you're playing in the positions them two do, even if they force a move to Spurs or Villa etc they would probably get into the England squad.
Adam Johnson didn't start for City because he wasn't good enough
I think Johnson will start more games this season!
How was his Wigan loan 'successful'? injured for half of it and couldn't get in the team when he wasn't. I'll tell you this now, in 4 years McEachran will be the better player, Cleverly probably won't be at United at that time.
In 4 years time they will probs all be playing there trade in the championship.

Unlikely to be at Chelsea though.
Despite he recently signed a FIVE year contract (5's bigger than 4 btw ) and said he wants to spend his whole career at Chelsea. Oh how I like a WUM fail, no?

TBF it's unlikely chelsea would let him go on a free so the 5 year contract doesn't matter. Not saying he'll end up elsewhere but do you think he'll make it in the first team?? I really doubt Cleverly will tbh. Whoever said they'll be playing for another team I think is the more likely scenario.
He has the talent to, that's for sure

What an idiotic reply. And I was not wumming.
What difference does a f year contract make?
Chelsea have not bought anyone through from their youth since Terry.
Will he be given time by the impatient Roman? That is what I was getting at.
Not hard to work out either considering Chelseas transfer policies for the last six years.
Vidicshin stop wumming us Chelsea fans up
If McEch is at Chelsea unlucky for him.
Paul Pogba will be running the Peemier League by then. Making young Joshy look like the poor-mans Fletcher that he is. Coltish.
