Well, there is no fire sale so we can expect him to go for a massive couple of mill... just to reduce BIH debts a bit more and of course the wage bill too.
Probably 25 quid cash plus add ons.
Entirely justifiable and in the best interests of the board... sorry, the club.
I am sure there is a cast off freebee out there that we can replace him with...
Does anyone know the directions to Accrington Stanley???
Although i would prefer to keep all our remaining players
If i had to sacrifice anyone Jerome would be 1st choice
5m would be nice, if you look at the first squad numbers post myself and banjo have worked out how we stand with finances (more banjo than me)
Add to that the 15m we are going to get for Zigic (according to his agent he better than Messi) so 15m wouldnt be a bad price to pay, we will be laughing.
KRO
Jerome is a very poor striker all he has is pace, you lot can do better than that.
Maybe this is a sign that Zamora will be sold to Spurs?
Just realised this was on the Birmingham board.
Fail
Jerome is a very poor striker all he has is pace, you lot can do better than that.....
Chelsea, may be a mistake but still strangely accurate
I think we would be looking for about £5M+ or maybe £4M+ addons that can rise to £6M
I would sell for £5M cash, rather than a higher fee based on addons.
Hopefully we dont sell and spend £1M of the cash on Ranger, as he is Jerome MK2 only not as hard working and scores even less.
The KiD
Wouldnt exactly say poor exactly.
He looked poor last season because the man who picked the side played up front on his own, and then told the midfield not to cross the half way line to support him.
if he is played in the right formation ie with some support, i would class him as decent.
Good enough for the top of the Championship / middle to lower Premiership.
Beats me why some Blues fans have this vendetta against the guy.
KRO
I like the last comment in the skysports story...
"It remains to be seen how Birmingham will respond, but manager Chris Hughton may have to sell in order to buy."
Really? thats all we have done since relagation... sell, sell, sell... and replace with free transfers.
How many more players do we have to sell before we can afford to buy one?
This has turned into a farce... one which is massively unjustifiable to those with half a brain cell in their head.
Zulu i dont think Jerome isa goal scorer he may have had a bit of a fluke season that once.
However McLeish never used the guy right, on his own with no suport Jerome offers nothing, may aswell play Uusain Bolt up front.
What Jerome can do, is use his pace and strength and his work rate to cause defenders trouble to keep them on their toes and create space.
Its not Jeromes fault that the space he created was not exploited by McLeish's side.
When we played Chucho he and Jerome created space for each other, Chucho played a big role on Jeromes season. But more important than the goals was that Chucho and Jerome both pushed defenders back and that meant our midfield could actually spend more time in the opposing half and final 3rd and thus we won more freekicks and corners and thats where our threat come from.
Jerome could be like a new signing if he is played right with the right support and that means pace on the wings and a pacey forward to partner him.
But if we get more than £5M for him, i would sell him.
The KiD
Does anyone have any idea how many millions we have made thro sales since relagation? including the payoff from the Vile for McJudas?
Must be 20 odd Mill... where did it go?
I still say Jerome would do a job in the right line up.
In a 4-4-2 with someone to run off him. He will find plenty of support up front at Fulham.
I hope he stays but I can't see it somehow.
KRO
Well we made about......
£3.5M-£4M Johnson (thats cash deal is upto £6.5M or £4M cash by some reports).
Gardner was £4.5M cash (deal that can be upto £6M but again some reports say £5M)
McLeish and staff is about £3M
Ferguson is £500K cash + £250K if Blackpool get Promoted.
So we have made about £11.5-12M
However we are not playing Fifa here, and so the club does not run on thin air, and the club are at -£40M income (get £20M and not £60M this season).
Its not a case of we got £140M Sky money, and made £12M+ in player sales since Yeung took over. So why have we not spent £150M on players
The KiD

KRO
End of the day we cant prove its gone to hong kong, i spoke to a few Bluenoses on Saturday and what a bunch of negative so and sos they was.
They recon that the Johnson, Gardner and McLeish cash has gone to Yeung to help him sort out his financial mess with his other businesses.
They recon the same would be done with the players and Parachutes, that no one wants to sponsor or sign for us/stay here because we will go into administration and Yeung is raking all he can from us to go into off shore accounts then we will finally see St Andrews sold off as land to pay back the debts BIH owe HSBC.
They blame Yeung for relegation, saying McLeish was given peanuts and not backed like S&G did with their managers
They say Yeung never backed McLeish for Pavy, N'Zogbia, Jones and Dembele.
Lastly they said we signed those flops on loan for £50K each so Yeung can Launder money through us and thats why he paid £30M more because thats £30M more Dirty Money washed.
IN A NUT SHELL Bluenoses who ant got a clue
The KiD
Banjo
I'm not saying he is a 20 - 25 goal a season striker, but I'm damn sure he would have got a lot more goals last seson if he would have had some support, and that would / could have kept us up
KRO
Well 1 goal in 5 games is a damn more than none in 25
I know what you mean, i dont think Jerome would conistantly get 10 goals a season regardless.
I do not think he is that poor that he would go 25 games again with no goals.
Not if he is used right, Jerome had no support or service none of our Strikers did apart from in the Cup.
The biggest stat is the cup, look at how many corners and shots on target we got in the cup games, compared to our Prem ones. In the cup we went for it, saw players who never got much game time in the league play.
In the Prem we played to not lose
Jerome does not have much awareness, i think this can improve and with better support means less guess work and awareness Jerome needs. (in Ecks 4,5,1 you needed eyes in the back of your head).
Jeromes ball controll and first touch is poor, sorry to say even our defenders can trap and controll a ball better than CJ.
Jeromes passing, and ball holding had improved last season, only he never got no one to pass to, only when he was forced wide and saw him pass it back down to our fullbacks.
Jeromes composure is not good, but this can improve with confidence.
Jerome is a instinct Striker most of his goals come from when the only touch he makes is the shot.
Most times he had time to think about the shot, had the ball at feet for a while or took a few touches he would mess up the shot.
So Jerome needs due to those weaknesss a player who can support him and thus one with pace to keep up with him and a player who can pass the ball or play the ball to Jeromes feet for him to run onto, so Jerome can see the player and know where abouts the ball is comming.
He was not getting that with the 4,5,1 but with pacey Chucho and 4,4,2 that one season he was
The KiD
Exactly
Even with a slightly more attacking formation, we would see an improvement.
It might help if supporters got off his back as well, and give the guy a chance under a new regime.
Thats if he is still here of course
KRO
I dont know if Jerome is a lone Striker though?
I would try this formation with Jerome if he was staying
-------------Mutch-------Michel
Redmond---------Gomis-------Beausajour
-------------------Jerome
The key is pace that can support Jerome, with Ecks 4,5,1 we only had Gardner runing with any pace to support Jerome as the rest of the midfield sat to deep.
The KiD
Jerome had a 1 in 3 strike rate at Cardiff in a 4-4-2.
He scored 11 in the prem in a 4-4-2.
This shows what we already know. Jerome plays better and scores in the right formation.
As for the money situation, this black hole (that leads to BIH?) throw in the £1.2M a year in sponsorship from xtep.
Which we know is only for three years instead of five unless we go up next season
KRO
Jeromes ratio was 1 in 4.8 games in his first season at Cardiff and then 1 in 2.4 in his 2nd season and thats why we signed him.
Thats a average of exactly one in 3, (Kings is more than that).
His first 2 seasons with us he averaged 1 in 5.4 and then 1 in 4.7 which is what he also did last time in Championship.
To be fair its obvious Jerome scored much better in a 4,4,2 as in a 4,5,1 it was like 1 in 10 or worse.
I think this showed that it was obvious McLeish was clueless
The KiD
I think Jeromes confidence took a bashing. I say keep him as well.
His prem record was not that bad before last season, its now at 1 in over 6 games, but a 3 goals in 34 games from last season drags his average of just under 1 in 4 down.
Whats shown is on his own with no support and service Jerome is as useless as far as goal threat.
Better support and Tactics and he could come good.
Problem is the club need to raise and save cash, i think we would need to still save £15M at least off the books and so if we sold Dann and Zigic maybe we dont have to sell anyone.
But if Jerome deal looks the closest to any deals to get done quickly then he will go on a first come first sold basis.
Ideally i think we would have liked to had seen Dann, Zigic and Michel sold first so we could then keep others. Dann because he would make the most cash, Zigic because he earns the most and Michel because out of all our signings over last 2 seasons he was used the least.
