there might be a few more... san marino and Montenegro just don't have the "pull" for some of our "3 lions wearers"...save themselves for bigger games...that might attract better deals from their sponsors etc???
trying to imagine if the rest of the country didn't work when they had a "niggle"????

We've got what the 'system' wanted.
A multi cultural society.
That's why we will never have unity or collective pride.

Multi national is fine......if these Jimmy Grants had come with the intention of liking the original 'culture' of the host nation, and wanting to be a part of that & doing whatever necessary to fit in, in their 'new home', That would have been fine.
But if holding on to their 'culture' no matter what, makes you wonder why they would have wanted to come in the 1st place.
That in itself does rub up the locals the wrong way then you get antagonism, and a secular divide,
at many levels.

To the here & now.
Divide & conquer !
maybe it was always supposed to be this way.

Re- Refs & 'didn't see it' etc.........

Wasn't this 'Rio' character responsible for elbowing Torres in the back of the head the other week...
A blatant act.
The COWARD then tried to console The Spaniard as if it had been an accident.
How would a ref or linesman have seen that ?
The Camera 'caught it'
GUILTY,
did anything become of it.
Is this the same guy involved with a refusal to give a drug sample ?
Is it !

Do I want him representing England. !

I'll give it five 38

Until we send all the overpaid foreign mercenaries packing, we'll never have a decent International side again and the sooner we see the demise of Sky along with their obscene amounts of money, the better. We might then get teams full of home grown players, coming up through the ranks, bursting with pride and eager to represent their Country.

As for me, I'm doing my bit at the end of this season and cancelling my Sky subscription, because I've got to the stage where I am not prepared to contribute another brass f-rt, into the coffers of grossly overpaid Premiership footballers and managers, such as the Shrek Clone Rooney's and the purply red bulbous nosed Ferguson's of this world.

As for Poll, wasn't he the pr-ck who booked a player twice and then failed to send him off. Mark Halsey is a decent ref and it was obvious that his view was blocked from seeing the horrible Mcmanaman tackle, which was a shocker and how his Chairman and Manager can even attempt to defend him beggars belief. If the authorities are seen to be doing their job, he should be banned for a half dozen games at least, irrespective of what Halsey says in his match report.

So, my solution to bring sanity back into the National game, is to tell Sky to f-ck off and take their money with them, along with all the money grabbing foreign stars who are here for one reason only - Money, because they couldn't care two f-cks about the clubs and fans they represent.

My Virgin gets turned off next week!

£90 a month! Foook that.

But I've got the sky go app on my phone via my mum n dad, so in theory I can still watch it, just on a smaller screen.

That's what I did all last season Hydy, just milked my folks' Sky Go.

My sports renewal is due next month and I'm going to renew, but that's mainly due to the other stuff I watch on there, cricket, RL, tennis, boxing, darts, wrestling etc. I do get my money's worth but it still peeves me that Sky throw so much money at the Premier League. It has caused the football league to become so detached that a 17th place finish for promoted clubs almost prompts an open-top bus parade. Then it's a case of hanging on for as many seasons as you can, safe in the knowledge that when you do go down, you have the financial clout of parachute payments to allow you an unfair advantage back in the championship.

Players aren't going to suddenly grow a conscience and start accepting deduced and realistic salaries, so as far as I can see the only way clubs like ours will have a chance to prosper is if Sky decide they want to help fund a European Superleague, and then the oligarchs and prima donnas can f-ck off and do their own thing.

I got the sky go from my sons' Sky, but with my HDMI lead I can watch it on my TV too. Without this I wouldn't bother subscribing to Sky, plenty of free footy websites to be found.

Will I pay £20 to see Town v Hull though...maybe, but if I had to pay full price, £29, probably not....

Everyone has to live within their means so it's not a case of being a fickle Town fan...just needs must.

CHAMPERS;;
just ditched sky for everything in the house..
moved to virgin.. played hard to get and got what I consider to be a very good deal..
I even managed to terminate my sky account over the phone in 45 seconds???
I think this is a record due to it being a 10p minute line and staff get paid for keeping you on the line as long as possible by making you hold whilst they pretend to check accounts and passwords..etc..
I just rang the sales team(same people that do disconnections-its just an entry on the same computer) don't choose disconnections from the menu(they just don't bother answering most of the time and your still on 10p a minute-the queue announcer often says how busy they are and your wait could be 15 minutes!!!!)...if you choose sales/additions they think you are buying....
Give them your account number straight away, they will ask for the password after that they have access to all your account and can offer new services or update with your NOTICE OF DISCONNECTION!!!!
Don't take any sh-t or being put on hold, it is not necessary... if you get cr=p at this stage inform them you are recording the conversation for OFFTEL...
If they give you any tripe about data protection and recording calls, its tripe you are a private telephone line holder and its not required to inform anyone you are recording the call..
Inform them straight away you are not willing to discuss the reason for changing, they will try but if you use the wording "I am not willing to discuss the matter" it puts them right off..
Then wait for the begging calls that follow in the next few days.. I had one of them waiting on line for nearly 4 minutes due to being "busy" , before returning from the lav and stating I wasn't interested..
If you push hard enough virgin will pay your 30 day notice money to sky or anyone else if you decide you want to change straight away.. They are offering 12 months half price at the moment, they are also overbooked in april and may for installations, if you are quick and can change over before the end of this month they offer you free phone calls/line rental or free broadband for 12 months..
you never know if you can changeover tomorrow they might pay you to have it done???????
virgin also offer free for life service and repairs to your kit, gotta be worth a look..

I left Sky when I moved house about a year ago and went for a freeview solution with a brilliant Humax box thats basically Sky +HD but with less channels. I dont regret it as I always have enough shows recorded I am interested in and if there is any big series we have missed we pay for that series on our Apple TV but there are only 2 shows we care about enough to do that. Saves you a fortune and if you dont watch loads of TV you dont miss much. Plus if ever I want to watch the footy my wife is more understandable about going to the local!

Sky writes to me on atleast a monthly basis offering fantastic deals but not interested, if you were you could really make them beg.

I agree with 38 that the repair issue is a good one as years ago I switched from Sky to Virgin as my Sky + box died and they wanted me to buy another for £300. I only left Virgin to go back to Sky when they were fighting and there were shows on Sky One and HD channels I wanted to watch.

with 18 month contracts and at least 12 months half price plus my free virgin broadband(I don't make many calls on the housephone) I will only have 6 months(up to press) at the full price before having them fighting over me again.. If you give your provider a long term notice of cancellation (which you can do) the last 6 months might be less expensive too..
Given how much these things cost and how much you can save its worth a bit of time haggling..
On virgin they don't have sky atlantic so that's a bonus for me, I never watch it and I wont have the box piled up with recordings of "game of thrones", what a pile of sh-te that is... its all good...
don't tell anyone, especially her indoors, I can get sky atlantic via the interweb.... "you aint heard it from me right"....

I once spoke to a Sky salesman who knocked at my door. Apparently there is a cheap way of getting Sky HD if you already subscribe to normal Sky. Buy a Sky HD box from a Cash Converters * and then put your sky card in it. It will bring you up a number to call to activate your box. Give that a ring with your account number and they will just activate it for you no questions, as you already have the card and the box is your private property. Et Voila...."free" HD. That nice man saved me a few quid as I have HD multiroom yet I only pay for normal Sky as I cancelled the HD after 6 months trial but obviously got to keep the box

* Don't try this through EBay, as most sellers will be flogging a locked box and Sky will know its illegal. Cash Converters check them first and won't buy a locked box

I should have said it isn't free as you buy the box, but it will save you quite a bit in subscription fees for as long as you use it

Jacko,

Do you use an mhl to hdmi connector for your phone to tv?

Are you android or apple?

It’s not surprising that pampered, prima donna players pull out of international games, either of their own volition, or on the recommendation of their clubs. What amazes me is that any fans turn up to watch games against the likes of San Marino, Transylvania, Legoland, and Unclestan, in what is after all, a trumped-up tournament. You can fool some of the people etc.

Daily Mail 22.2.2010
Jimmy Greaves interviewed on his 70th birthday… “'I used to go to a tennis club that was owned by the Co-op. They had a Sunday football team and we would play the Met Police or local company teams. I used to turn out for them, so did Alan Sealey, Brian Dear, Cliff Jones, and on some mornings we'd have Bobby Moore and Geoff Hurst on the line, waiting to come on. And we were all still playing, all still professionals. We just fancied a match and a pint in the bar afterwards. That was what it was like.

How about a rant based on the following snippets of information?

Mirror Football 12.3.2013
Birmingham will step up their efforts to offload Nikola Zigic as he is due another staggering pay-rise this summer.

The Serbia striker was relegated with the Blues in 2011 earning £50,000-a-week.

But his deal did not have a relegation clause, so his pay has kept rising, first to £55k last summer and with £62,000-a-week the next scheduled increase.

(Zigic has scored 8 goals so far this season.)

The Scotsman 19.3.2013
Oil workers in the North Sea are looking forward to a pay rise of 15 per cent this year, taking average wages to £73,600 (per annum) and sparking fears that operations are becoming too expensive.

A survey of more than 1,000 companies by jobs website Oilandgaspeople.com found that 70 per cent of employers in the sector were worried that wages were rising too fast because of a shortage of skilled workers.

If you want good comedy you can just watch what is happening at Blackburn Rovers. Their owners may get their new manager to wear a GoPro style helmet cam and PPV a big brother style show with online betting as to how long until they get sacked!

posted on 19/3/13

I reckon we send Blackburn a red letter regarding the rest of the Rhodes money. At this rate they're gonna spend all their money in compensation and probably end up in administration, leaving us well shafted

posted on 19/3/13

I have a ridiculous theory that the Venkys paid well over the odds for Rhodes and then, knowing they had big future payments coming decided to try to get into administration at the earliest opportunity. Thats why they let Kean stay on in the summer as he had proven he was good at getting a team relegated. Trouble was he did better than expected and so had to put pressure on him to resign. Then they realised they could just sack loads of managers at ridiculous times and pay more and more in compensation.

After all who else would "head hunt" Michael Appleton!!!!

posted on 19/3/13

If a club folds before the full transfer is paid then that player should return to the club that "sold" him.

If I personally run out of money and can't pay the mortgage, then the bank takes my house....so why, if a club goes into admin and can't settle it's payments on an purchase, does that purchase not return to the seller?

posted on 19/3/13

Footballing debts are paid first so we would be alright. They would have to give us the cash or I guess when assets are sold off we get the money then. They could always give us Rhodes plus a few million as in a fire sale he isnt worth what they owe us!!!
