Thought he already retired since he has more apps on MOTD than for Stoke

At such a young age, only 33.

He killed off his career by moving to Real Madrid imo. What a player he was when he was young and at Liverpool.

Good Luck to Owen in his future endeavours but it was three years too late to be frank.

Toplad he peaked too early imo

Shame Liverpool treated your career with such disregard in your younger days

Yeah, as Fergie says he could've gone on to be another Curtis or Wallwork if we'd treated him right

RVP's Left, I don't agree with that. I think he left Liverpool too early and also his constant injuries did not help.

Yeah a bit rich from the club that had Hargreaves on the books.
===========

Bayern destroyed Hargreaves, not Utd

You guys have form for destroying promising footballers.

Fowler, Collymore, Sahin

Collymore and Sahin never played for Leeds

How the fek did we destroy Real Madrid's bench warmer Sahin's career? He's gone from Madrid bench, Liverpool bench and now Dortmund bench

Again, Torres didn't play for Leeds

Neither did Veron, Forlan or Poborsky.

Alan Smith did though, he's doing well these days

Alan Smith has made 28 appearances for MK Dons and scored one goal.

I must add that Owen is a disgrace for turning his back on his country with the WC not too far away

Been retired in all but name since 06.

Made some genuinely daft moves on his career.

Should have retired while at the top!
Five years is a long time to hang on as a pretender living on his well earned laurels.
He lost some glory doing this. Was a super player and finished as a master twitterer unfortunately. But none the less, GOOD ON YA MICHAEL! (it just don't last forever)

And miss his Derby winner?

Glad he played on just for that moment
