I said this on a thread the other day, but I really don't know what papers people are reading to think that Hart has not got criticism this season. Particularly recently, he has had plenty of articles on it, especially after Mancini publicly criticised him.
---------------------------------------

It has all been very understated and only when his own manager pointed out his lack of form. With De Gea it was way over the top, jumping on every tiny mistake. Hart has got off lightly. If De Gea had made as many mistakes as Hart this season I dread to think what would have happened to the lad.

I love De Gea, he looks like Wolverine

Yes, meltonblue. But the depth of criticisms that Hart has received for comparatively similar mishaps have been much less than DDG has.

Also, Hart is England's no 1. DDG is not even in Spain's 3 (caps wise , not form-wise).

We could get a JA606 11 to give San Marino a game. In fact we'd probably win. The San Marino players are all part timers and have jobs just like we do.

To be fair this is a very very poor team we're playing, if we don't win by at least 4 goals It will be a failure in the eyes of the media

Defoe hasn't been rubbish. Not been amazing either, but still scored a decent amount of goals.

---

He started the season well but has 1 goal in 15 games. Not scored since Boxing Day.

He is hardly the man in form.

I disagree to be honest, I know a lot of United fans who have said that but it has just not been the case in the papers I have read. I've seen nothing but praise for De Gea recently.

In terms of earlier in the season, the reason De Gea was mentioned a lot in the papers was not solely due to individual mistakes (which has mainly been the case with Hart this year), but a belief that there was fundamental errors in certain parts of his game. There is a difference there. Recently though, as those parts of his game have improved (and at a very quick rate too), I have seen nothing but compliments towards him and his potential.

Portugal were 3-1 down away to Israel earlier. Only got a 3-3 draw in the end.

They are play-offs at best as already 4pts behind Russia.

Well, Roy looks to be saving Welbs for the Montenegro games. Maybe he is hoping that Defoe will get a few goals and get back in the swing of things?

Elvis, check this clip of Valencia's assist last night for Ecuador. It's a flash back to the Toni of 2010-12

That is because he was played very well. It still doesn't detract from that fact that the stories about him were over the top when he was struggling a bit or that Hart has got off lightly in comparison.

Maybe, but surely he would learn more by giving Sturridge a game.

Defoe is 30 and has 52 caps. We know he can do well against the likes of San Marino.

Sturridge only has 4 caps, why not give him a game and see if he can impress against poor opposition.

He made 3 assists last night Elvis, and people think he's lost it Hopefully he replicates this for United's last 9 games

posted on 22/3/13

We'll have to agree to disagree Statman, I honestly think there is a slight bit there of people noticing the De Gea articles more than the Hart ones.

posted on 22/3/13

Righteous, Sturridge is injured ain't he?
