Hoax journalist squirms

Getting back to the OP, i think the journo concerned was a scouser called Tony Evans of 'The Times'.
He unfortunately made comments on the Sunday Supplement' about journalists only being interested in telling the truth and that journalists have never deliberately printed lies.

I made a mistake on the name I will print a retraction in a different thread on a later date

The journos made me laugh trying to elevate themselves above armchair bloggers because they have sources

Boris
It was about the story of a Fantasy League being arranged to be played in Qatar involving the worlds top clubs including the top 4 from the PL. It turned out to be a hoax that the journo, Tony Evans of The Times fell for and printed.

No doubt one of their sources.

Oliver Kay was the journalist who was working on the DFL story loz. It would've been interesting viewing had he been on Sunday Supplement because there are still some unanswered questions I think regarding the story such as who the source(s) (not Cahiers du Football) that he spoke highly of were but I guess this is something we'll never find out or I have yet to hear about.

Tony Evans being The Times' Football Editor, obviously had to shoulder the blame as well.

I never watch Sunday Supplement because it's an awful programme so I haven't yet heard what he has said. I'll have to see if I can find a link to it somewhere.

Journos who are so aroused by revealing every little private detail of other peoples' lives should have the balls to name the source behind every single story.

Just done a quick search and the real person behind the story that The Times printed seems to be a guy called Rob Beal and he sounds like quite a nasty character.

He has quite a lengthy history of alleged fraud it seems including acting as a spokesman for PSG.
