Henry's the better of the two. Bergkamp was great but not one of the PL's best. Bracket below on a par with Zola and (peak)Torres.

Apart from Henry, Ronaldo, & maybe Giggs (cos of longevity), who else was better than Bergkamp in prem history, please don't say Cantona

A lot of players.

Bergkamps 87 league goals in embarrassing for a so called striker.

Over a race of say 50 miles, i believe Henry would indeed be 'miles better'. I struggle to grasp the context in which this could apply to their football ability though

But i'm just a thick

That's because Bergkamp wasn't a striker you idiot.

Bergkamp was one of the all-time greats. You being a United fan though don't have a clue.

Don't know why people pretend this is debatable. Henry is easily our greatest player of the PL era. Very easily. Bergkamp is much closer to the level of a Pires or Viera or RVP than Henry. Those that say he's better than Henry remind me of the occasional guy that claims Xavi/Iniesta are better than Messi or Ronaldo.

Unbelievable that to this day even Arsenal fans do not appreciate just how good Bergkamp was.

He could do things with a ball that Henry couldn't do. I don't mind people saying Henry was better, but please, do not make it out as if there is some huge disparity in quality between the two because there really isn't.

Dennis Bergkamp was one of a number of exceptional players to have played in the premier league.

Thierry Henry is the best player in premier league history and a player of whom you could implant as an entire attacking unit on his lonesome.

Statistics, consistency and actuality all favour Henry, before getting into just what a high powered creator and destroyer he was during his prime and how relied upon he was as the spearhead of one of the most devastating attacking cruxes this league has ever seen.

It's Henry and it isn't as close as people tend to make out.

Henry 2005-6 CL where he carried us was prett special. Bergkamp was like Xavi. He flourished with intelligent players. Henry was like Ronaldo put him in any team and he'll deliver.

in my honest opinion Henry is the best player i have ever seen in this division-everything about the guy oozed class, he was the best striker in the world back then

I think the real question here should be Henry versus Welbeck.

If anything, it's the reverse. I think a player like Pires is underrated. Bergkamp isn't considering you see a sizeable few that rate him above Henry. Football isn't all about technique. On a week in, week out bases, Henry was the most devastating forward this league has seen and often a one-man attack. He was a great goalscorer, a scorer of great goals and the most creative player in the league too. He is comfortably superior to Bergkamp.

It's one thing to say you prefer Bergkamp's style (the same way I prefer Iniesta's style to Ronaldo) or he's your favourite player (like Pires was my favourite) but it's another to say he's outright better than Henry. I don't think any rival players would rather face a prime Henry on the pitch rather than Bergkamp.

To Arsenal fans it seems Bergkamp is the favorite (Mine also) But to opposition fans, Henry.

Sheriff I generally respect and look forward to what you post.
But you occasionally come out with some nonsense.

Not only are you underrating Bergkamp by claiming they're incomparable but Bergkamp closer to RVP? The latter's not half the player.

If anything I'd say Bergkamp's not far of Zidane.

oh feck off you deluded idiot. Bergkamp is nowhere near Zidane's level FFS

By far the best summary I've seen. Bergkamps immense technique did not make up for his deficiencies and it certainly does not mean he was anywhere near Henry's overall level.

I use to hate playing against Henry yet loved watching him play.

Bergkamp meh, put him in his prime in a team now I wouldn't really care tbh.
