In reality mate..who could you get to take over at the minute...a stuffed animal would be enough to steer The Rangers thru those leagues.
a stuffed animal would be enough to steer The Rangers thru those leagues.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree but it is going to ba long and painfull watch with the current stuffed animals in charge
Ffs, what are we on? 2 league losses all season...
We are where we are and that is stuck with a transfer ban, having been finalised with a league position with only 2 weeks to go in the transfer window.
The scenario you describe for QoS is exactly where we sit - away to wrap up the league in March - knocked Motherwell out of the cup...if this wasn't "Rangers" and was any other team, then McCoist would be getting plenty praise.
The expectation to win every single game was there in the SPL. So it's unsurprising that it's still there in Division 3.
I don;t know if you;ve managed to get along to many QoS games this season? I'm sure they've had their fair share of scraped results, luck and uninspiring performances along the way.
The fact is they got the job done, just as we have.
Primary objective: get promoted.
That's already signed and sealed unless this ridiculous mid-season reconstruction plan goes through...
Brooklyn ...
These guys have short memories. McCoist has been working under unbelievable condidtions. He spent the majority of the close season fighting to keep the club alive, had 6 days to sign players for a club in the 4th tier and is now 4 points off winning the league. Give the guy a break, let him sign some players having done the checks etc then we'll see how he does. It's the least he deserves.
regarding the Brechin v Qots game mentioned in the op. both teams to score tonight is an absolute certainty at 8/15
BB
The young players coming through combined with current internationals on the books and aleged SPL level signings should imo resulted in not just promotion but performances with the odd exception that excited the fans.
This has not happened and that is down to the manager.
There HAVE been plenty of exceptional performances though, and with so many youngsters in the side, you are CERTAIN to get inconsistency - this is part and parcel of playing a team full of youngsters.
You're focusing on the negative and forgetting we've unearthed a new generation of youngsters (would another manager have given them a chance? Who knows...but the fact is McCoist did), we've won the league at a canter and we've got a couple of guys in the squad who are definitely going to be there by the time we are back in the top tier.
Some players are blowing hot and cold, and surprise, surprise - a professional team isn't performing great playing on a part-time sides pitch, in front of a couple of thousand fans on a cold Sunday lunchtime...
If players aren't turning up for every game, they'll get their reward by being binned when we have the ability to replace them.
It's as simple as that.
At the moment, too many know that they have a kushty contract, there is no scope to get rid of them and no way of replacing them in the team.
THAT is the reason you have some poor performances "on occasion" this season.
And it isn't anywhere near every week, despite what the doom and gloom merchants would have you believe
In reality mate..who could you get to take over at the minute...a stuffed animal would be enough to steer The Rangers thru those leagues.
=======================================
That's the problem bubble they already have one
...Yet your manager with a significantly WORSE domestic record this season, is apparently "King Lenny" according to your username?
Think you need to take another look in your toy box!
..a stuffed animal would be enough to steer The Rangers thru those leagues.
aye right complete tripe of course and very disrespectful to other teams
2 weeks to build a new team and a transfer embargo, why didnt ally just go out and buy better players ..... no wait
6 full internationals, 9 youth internationals and throw in players with SPL and Seria A experience.
Yea Ally realy got dealt a bad hand at the start of the season.
Not a bad squad for Div 3 and imo they have underdelivered for the majority of the season.

I agree that any manager could have gotten us through the 3rd division with the players we had.
I could have done it, a magic 8 ball could have been used to pick the squad and done it.
Its not being disrespectful to the other teams, its just cold hard facts. They are amateurs against professionals.
Its like if you put an F1 team with their tools into a school soap box derby competition against a bunch of kids.
Coisty is an immotive subject with what he has done for the club but i can just about remember having convesations of this type over 30 years ago about John Greig.
Greatest Ranger ever but a bad choice as manager and I can see similarities with Ally.
Build a statue of him, name a stand after him, give him a position on the board but dont keep him in charge during a time when we have a once in a generation chance to shape the future of the club.
I think the key point is "shoestring budget"
We have the second highest wage bill in Scotland.
That's why it isn't good enough just to win the league. We should've been challenging for cups and playing good football.
We got horsed out of all cups (even the Ramsdens FFS) and play dire football.
That's why Ally isn't good enough.
I feel we have to get someone else in and Allan Johnston is a good shout imo.
Ally has seen us through a tough time in our history and he will be remembered for that.
I think the experienced players such as Black, Sheils and Sandaza have let us down. They should have been the experience the youngsters needed around them but I don't think they've justified their wages.
I agree youngsters cannot be expected to peak every week and there will be a loss of form over the course of a season so I'm not going to have a pop at them.
However, I don't see any great tactics on show at Ibrox just now and we should be playing with more than 1 attacker at Ibrox against the teams in our league.
Doyou think that Rangers were in a strong bargaining poition when they signed Black , Shiels etc ? They had just been told the club would continue to exist but would play in Div 3. They were never going to get these players for the going rate hence the high salaries.Give the guy til Xmas, if I'm wrong the same managers will still be available.
agreed me n coop
ally is not on an even playing field, deserves a fair crack when the tranfer embargo is up
On one hand we have our loyalty to one of the greatest Rangers ever but flip side of that is my feeling that Ally will never make a manager unless he changes his whole outlook at the club. I'm not going to let the fact that Ally is a Rangers hero blind me from thinking otherwise i'm afraid.....
I'm in total agreement the whole club has been under constraints but it still does not merit the 'style' of football that hasn't changed one iota since Ally took over. Even when we had a decent side and still in the SPL we were still wash! As mentioned before this was a chance for the whole coaching staff to put a stamp on their future plans for the way the team played but..............
C'mon Ally, the league is won, get back to basics, train these guys into the ground (Gullane sands springs to mind) and let's bring some enjoyment back to Ibrox!
