got high hopes for him mate
Why?
I don't mean to be a , but you haven't really explained why you think he's going to be so good.
The goal he scored on his debut was fantastic, but Kieran Richardson, Macheda and others have scored similar goals for us.
I think he's done well when he has played, though I think he struggled against Galatasaray. I'd like to see him in the team more to see what he can do. Perhaps if we beat City he will feature more in the run in.
One thing:
"I honestly think it's a more impressive feat relatively than RVP or Kagawa's player of the year awards in England and Germany respectively."
I wouldn't go that far. A good Championship player would look out of place in League 2 regardless of age. Look how well Rhodes did for Huddersfield.
The step up to the Premier League/Bundesliga is huge. Many players score for fun in the Championship but can't find the net in the top league - Chopra, Nugent, Campbell etc.
That list would've sounded so much better with Pogba headlining it.

Thats the point. I think he's going to be brilliant, I want to see if others see what I do without being spoon fed. I don't think you've grasped the point of it being a relative comparison.
Stick RVP in league two, he'd be kicked off the park, handle it, be the best player and score 40 to 50 goals.
RVP, an established, world class footballer at his absolute peak.
Nick Powell was Crew's main man, scored most of their goals, made most of the rest, ran games and was the stand out footballer in a league of true, full blooded hatchet men the likes of which we haven't seen in top flight football for 20 years.
As a 17 year old boy.
And he scored some unbelievable goals that, if Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Sergio Aguero or whoever hit these shots and scored them, the world would have used them as proof of their genius. Powell has an incredible future ahead of him. Lampard-esque with a touch of Sniejder in his movement. Cannot wait to see how the young boy progresses.
kamikaze that was just pure outright bitterness. A POTY is POTY. Grow up.
Rooney was scoring goals like this as a 19 year old in the pl.
Look I don't no much about powell but I would wonder if he's as good as you say well then why hasn't he featured more this season. Now the obvious answer is fergie protecting him and wants to ease him into the squad. Another argument is if he is good enough he is old enough see best , rooney, whitside for example.
I hope he is as good as you say he is. I have heard him being compared to scholes. Let's hope so because fergie dosent seem inclined on buying a creative cm at the moment.
From what I've seen of him, he looks OK.
He needs to go out on loan to a lower Premiership team to get some games under his belt, that would be much better for his development than sitting on the bench 90% of the time, and the other 10% playing with a makeshift midfield.
He's English so automatically people start touching their private areas over him.

Scholes broke in to our team at 22. Xavi became the player he was at 29/30. Breaking through early means sweet fa.
Would imagine fergie will have another look at him during the summer tour. He's had a season at ot now so if he goes on loan he will know what's expected of him as a utd player. If he gets a squad number next season well then he will definately be one to watch.

Change the 17 for 18/19 and you could say the same about Rhodes. Ramsey was doing the same for Cardiff, whilst Ox and Walcott did the same for Southampton.
League 2 is a very poor standard. I don't think the 'kicking the cràp' arguments holds any sway. Players tried to kick the .... out of Ronaldo but failed because he was too good. Very rarely can you stop a very top player just by kicking him, believe me, I've tried!!
He's a good prospect, but still only a prospect. Hard to judge how any young player will handle the step up to Man Utd 1st team squad. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders though and will be patient.
Hopefully we will get to see a few cameos in the coming weeks.. if we wrap up the league next Monday.
your most likely looking at a loan deal to wigan or maybe southhampton. Teams with styles of play that will bring the best out of him.
I think he looks a good player but has a very long way to go to becoming a starter for us, and I mean a very long way to go.
Still think Pogba was the greater talent.
Xavi became the player he was at 29/30.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Couldn't be more wrong. Xavi has been a phenomenal player since he broke though. It's just the Barca team wasn't quite as good as it is with Messi in it.
I remember Xavi playing at OT when he was about 20 or so and he was amazing.
Watched Powell play when Utd came to Aberdeen at the start of the season and I kept asking myself who the feck is that kid. He's a beast of a player.
He's an all action midfielder, very similar game to Stevie Me and isn't a shrinking violet.
Another player who has impressed me with his ability on the ball is Adnan Janujaz. A very gifted football player.
ManUtdDareDevil you're hyping him up to the point where if he is really as good as you are making him out, he'd have featured in more games this season.
He's done ok for his age when he's played this season, but he has a lot to learn still
Sorry not you ManUtd Daredevil, thought you were the OP, i mean that previous comment to the OP

Adnan looks seriously talented doesn't he mate
I think we have some cracking players in the ranks and we will probably know next season where we're at with them all
I hear there may be a bit of a clear out this Summer in the youth squads
Shoot me now, but I haven't been they impressed going on what I've seen. His touch, control and short passing doesn't look particularly refined in comparison to guys the same age. Wilshere, for example, looked a class act technically from the start.
He will obviously be a good player as he is clearly quite talented, but I haven't seen anything 'special' yet. I know it hasn't worked out, but remember how good Anderson looked at 19? Powell is a year younger but I still the innate talent yet. We'll wait and see.
*don't see similar innate talent

The best players generally do break through early.
This boy Powell will be quality. You can just tell he's going to be good, the best players have something about them from an early stage that you can pick them apart from the average players. No disrespect to Cleverley I dont see anything in him and have never done to suggest he will be a top player, but Powell will be quality.
He looks good but in the times he's featured for the first team you can see he is still yet to get to grips with the change of pace for his Crewe days. Gets caught on the ball a bit but give him a season or so to adjust to the speed at this level and he looks a real prospect. Great eye for goal.
