He earns more in a week than most earn in 6-8 yrs but cant find a way to pay insurance and also already banned

---

I don't think the insurance is an issue, as A) He wouldn't have any on account of already being banned. and B) I'm relatively sure that if you can prove you can cover the costs of a collision/other accident, etc, then you don't actually need insurance, though I could be wrong.

Would a 'normal' person get 250 hours of community service & a £1k () fine? Or would they be facing a much harsher penalty. Especially as it isn't his first driving related offence. Finally, do you think he should be driving in England if he hasn't got a UK license, which I think you have to get if you're spending an extended period of time here, or should he have to pass an English driving test too?

he would have been allowed to drive on his argentinian license for 12 months, then he needed to get a british license. how long has tevez been in the country? 7 years? longer

A friend of mine was killed by a disqualified driver. Someone that shouldn't have been behind the wheel for 18 months.

This decision fúcking sickens me.

He was then stopped by police, following an anonymous tip-off, leaving a Cheshire golf club behind the wheel of a Porsche Cayenne

--------------------------

I'm not surprised that he is in trouble, he was letting a golf club drive his car? I know that woods are good for 'driving' on the golf course, but really.... something must have got lost in translation with him.

Please tell me you're joking... Either you're A). An absolute retárd. Or B). You are a an absolute retárd without a driving licence.

He was disqualified because he didnt have insurance, continued to drive and now got caught.

Had he been disqualified because of dangerous driving and been caught driving while banned, the sentence would have been harsher.

Who did Tevez hurt?

He has masses of funds that will enable him to pay for any accidental damage if there was any.

Mock outrage from the Spurs fans.. as if any of your players haven't affected anyone's civil sensibilities.

I think the decision is a sensible one - Tevez will do more good in that 250 hours of community service than anything that would come from putting him in prison.

Shouldn't punishment be in line with what can be achieved?

The one point I would agree on is that there are probably lots of people guilty of this offence that would be better off assigned to lengthy community service programs, rather than chucking them in prison.

Just a personal view though.

What he earns shouldn't matter. You said it yourself, it should be the same for everybody

Prehaps they should bring out a law that if your caught without insurance or driving while banned that your car gets crushed, that might make people like him take notice of whether he is following the law or not
