CG - so there are different levels of racism?
What have the Green Brigade done wrong this season which can definitely be proven to be them?
An illegal march.
Fair enough, it doesn't excuse Strathclyde Police laying into teenagers.
There was already legislation to deal with this, now we've got a rather Orwellian culture with regard to football where people are put on camera for the whole day and where everything people say on social media is trawled through and watched by Police.
My idea of policing is a vital service which is used to react to crime, but what happens and I'm not just talking about football here is that they go out looking to try and get convictions. If they stop you in your car then when you've exonarated yourself of the original charge they'll keep on digging to see what else they can nail you for.
Not only are the Police corrupt, they're lazy. If their shift finishes at 10pm, then you can guarantee that someone on the street will be lifted at 9:30pm for the most harmless of crimes so they can go back to the station and get a cup of tea instead of staying on the street and seeing what matters.
The Police are an organisation I have no respect for whatsoever.
I'd like to think most people are governed by conscience not law, but I suppose that's not the case and hence Police are a necessary evil.
This legislation has caused more trouble than it set out to prevent.
I know you apologised but I'm just trying to understand what point you were trying to make?
Right I've got a drive to finish see ya
Henke - the next thing you'll be sayin is the sirens are representative of them gettin back for tea break! Deary me fella! The legislation was not made by the police!!!
Perhaps remember this! Also remember the police are the law! If they say stop you stop if they say you can go then on you go! Perhaps if the GB showed a modicum of repsect to the police then it would be returned!
Now here is where we differ:
you say - My idea of policing is a vital service which is used to react to crime
I say - my idea of policing is a vital service which is used to PREVENT crime!
Interesting differing views!!!
Dos is there anything wrong with the slogan "Arbeit macht frei" labor makes you free? No ,but what if you stick above the entrance to a death camp? Its all about meaning Dos,and calling anyone a pa-ki friend or not is racist.
Numpty fans using racist terms years / decades ago is one thing.
For a CEO to use proudly use this term in recent days is another.
The term "Pak i" was adopted by violents racists in the UK in the 70's.
They usually put - "Bashing" at the end of it to celebrate their unprovoked assaults on anyone with brown/dark skin.
Decent citizens have avoided using that term since.
Green is not only a clown.
He is a disgrace.
and calling anyone a pa-ki friend or not is racist.
==
it can be construed as such but we all know it wasnt.
It was ill advised and wrong but he was using the term to a friend a guy he has worked with for years.
Would a racist work with and employ someone whos race offended him....
It was his mate.... he wasnt using it in a deliberately derogatory way..
For the benefit of doubt he was WRONG to use the term but Im pretty sure he is not a racist
Going back to Green's comments. A question - what is Imran Ahmad's nationality? I assume British. But would he describe himself as Pakistani British, Indian British?
If it is the former, then really the offended bus needs parked.
As that is simply factual.
If it is other, then there is a problem, as previously discussed.
If there was or it was meant in a derogatory manner, no matter Mr Ahmad's background, then there is also a problem.
But until THESE facts are known, the offended bus needs to get parked up.
Duke
All about context, though not the brightest choice of words! Maybe Mr Khan will have the last laugh and he will have told Charles exactly what HE had to, to gain control of Rangers in time
Duke.
Apart from the patronising arrogance in this clown's boast.
He put the word "Pak i" before "friend".
That tells me about his mindset.
He thinks in racial terms.
I don't.
You don't.
But then again we're not racists.
Got to agree. Green is a disgrace for using it.
Whenever I've heard it said it was never in a fun jovial way. He might have made the comment that way but it's wrong.
I've never been offended with anything I've been called, hvn, dob etc. it just doesn't bother me but p@ki is just wrong.
could you not just kid on charlie is a fascist, tims like them
it can be construed as such but we all know it wasnt.
No you don't-it is a racist term used as a term of endearment, If i called you" my wee hu-n pal" what would you say? And for all anyone knows Green could be a grand wizard of the KKK.
Green could be a grand wizard of the KKK.
carried away much? i think isf charlie was a racist he wouldnt go into business with the bloke
Speaking of clowns Loud Drip.
Do you use the term yourself ?
his comments were ill advised, he should remember his position, but its getting turned round and upside down just to have a go at rangers, all blown out of proportion as usual
Aww you think Laudrup lets deal with what we know-Green called his friend a pa-ki.Fact.The word Pa-ki is deemed an offensive, derogatoryand racist word for asians from the sub continet of India or Pakistan.
He's your Chairman and he is a racist.
my wee hu-n pal - tell me ma if you and I were indeed pals and you introduced me to your friends in this manner I would not deem it racist nor offensive, i would class it as banter! Much the same as my big nosed, small cocked, sticky oot eared pal would be introduced!
It is all about context! ie if you took me to a "ra" supporting pub and introduced me as "my wee hu-n pal" then I would not be too amused!
Do you use the term yourself ?
i have loads of asian friends, i have no reason to use it, i do have plenty of banter with them and it works both ways
this is just complete and utter nonsense, blown out of proportion to point score, its football in the west of scotland, apparantly its cool to be fascist but not racist

But Im going to guess he is not.
A real racist would never have a close friend of a race he detests ..would he?
Would a real racist employ and work with someone of a race he is meant to detest.
It was a pretty ignorant phrase to use but being ignorant on this issue does not mean you are a racist.
He is a racist and he should resign immediately.
