I dont think you have grounds to dislike Brendan Rodgers and I dont know what he has done to offend you.

I dont like you because you called me a muppet.

Grow up.

I dislike him because of his interviews, and I generally don't agree with anything he says. He hasn't done anything to offend me, I just dislike him. If you actually read any other part of my comments, I also praise him and can clearly see he is doing better than KD, and that he is the best choice for your club. Just because I don't like him doesn't mean I think he is going to do a bad job, or that he isn't very good. You're massively over exaggerating and have the nerves to tell me to grow up.

I couldn't care less that you don't like me Please actually read my comments actually reply to it, rather than nit picking my personal opinions of BR. I haven't attacked him or anything, just airing an opinion. You're way to sensitive...

Hi

You've still maintained that you dont like him and given no sensible or credible explanation as to why that is so the only reason people can see from that is that you are expected to dislike him given that you support who you do.

"I generally dont agree with anything he says"

So what.

It has nothing to do with him managing Liverpool. I didn't particularly like him at Swansea either. I don't like the way he talks in his post match interviews, and seems to have the art of 'missing' key incidents. For example, after the West Ham game he tried to claim your offside goal, was 'clearly onside'. Little things like that add up, and help me form an opinion.

Of course, I could be completely wrong about him, and having never met the man my opinion doesn't carry much weight, and is easily subject to change. But at present, based on what I've seen, I don't like him. I really don't see what your problem is?

I ask again whether you're going to actually talk about any of the points I raised around 10 comments ago before you needlessly brought this up.

Exactly Jay. I don't like the type of football we play but I still see him progressing us and I am optimistic about where he's taking us.

I expect you to defend your manager, but it is trivial and completely unrelated to the discussion at hand, as I have cleared stated that he is the right person at your club, and said he is doing a good job - I haven't let my personal view of him cloud my judgement of him as a manger. So please, stop going on about it and get back to discussing the topic.

Early to judge either. You have to ask why Sturridge was allowed to leave Chelsea when they are short on strikers. The other lad, lets give him a few more games, looks a good un.

That is what I mean Great, based on what I've seen, I've formed an opinion. That doesn't necessarily make me right, and as I say, my opinion of him is only loosely formed, and could quite easily change given the right circumstances. No doubt he is a nice guy, similarly, SAF has always been touted as a decent person, but people only ever get to see the 'front' of any given manager, and it is on those times we can form an opinion.

The same can be said for any manager, the media is virtually the only medium that most of us are ever going to see them through, and is largely what we base our thinking on.

Well Coutinho has done more in those few games than all of Kenny's signings bar Suarez whih kinda kills your point.

Hendiniho? Its easy to come in and make an impact, but once you get scouted and figured out?

Sturridge was never going to get a run of games at Chelsea, he was almost guaranteed football at Liverpool, I assume he'll have been trying to get a move away. Lots of players start brightly. I read somewhere earlier that Taibi had been MotM in his first 2 games, but he's remembered for his 3rd

Chris, I'm a United fan.

Having watched a lot of all the top 4 challengers I don't feel Liverpool are too far off - especially since the New Year as they've really started to settle and added Sturridge and Coutinho.

A couple of good additions and no Europa distraction and they should be there or thereabouts next season.

Not saying they will but I expect them to challenge.

DTKF, I think it not only depends on Liverpool strengthening, but it also depends what the other challengers do. I can only see Arsenal not buying as much as Spurs/Chelsea.

At least four sides above will improve the squads.

posted on 10/4/13

True, Jay, and this is the difficulty predicting things like this as we don't know who will sign who.

But there's not a lot between the sides and Liverpool's team is really starting to settle now.

They've got things in place that will allow them to challenge.

Righteous made a brilliant point a few days ago about how teams above them may spend money but it doesn't necessarily mean they'll have improved, otherwise no team would ever be able to overtake another.

Think you were on that thread, and it was a brilliant point.

Summer will be very interesting.

But for Liverpool's frankly terrible start, they'd have been up there. If they start next season well, there is no reason they'll finish outside the top 6 at least. The problem is there are 4 or 5 clubs that have an extremely good chance of the last 2 spots in the top 4.

Why was Coutinho allowed to leave Inter? It's easy to ask a question like that to suit your argument. Why is any player allowed to leave any club? Judging by what you say Fell, we may as well scrap transfers.

Why was Baines allowed to leave Wigan? Ronaldo to leave United? Fat Ronaldo to leave Barcelona? Etc etc.

I see your point about that, but you can see why he's asking. Chelsea are/were severely lacking in the striker department, and it surely couldn't have hurt them keeping Sturridge.

Mostly players leave because either they, or the club will be getting money. Ronaldo to Madrid for example, was not only a f^&k ton of money, he also really wanted to play there.

posted on 10/4/13

True, Jay.

But I'd imagine Liverpool will be one of those 4 or 5 clubs competing.

No doubt about it, can't realistically see any outside of Chelsea/Spurs/Arsenal/Liverpool and Everton (at a push) challenging for top 4. I imagine it'll be much more competition that the one for the title...2 horse race again, unless Chelsea really pull something out.

Sturridge has looked pretty good for Liverpool. I've had my reservations over him since his time at Chelsea but he's impressed me.

Chelsea may have needed a striker and let him leave, but is that relevant to what he's doing at Liverpool?

Some players just work better in certain teams. The perfect example of this is Diego Forlan. Went from being a bit of a flop at United to the best striker in the world at Villarreal and Atletico.
