This is just my personal opinion, but I don't think he is going to be a world beater.
VC
Bang on with all that.
I'm worried about Fergie too. He's making far too many bizarre decisions in BIG BIG matches nowadays. Starting to understand finally why we only have two CL titles despite having some incredible teams under Fergie.
Dortmund didn't play strikers on the wing and wingers in CM the other night. In fact none of the clubs left in did.
So why does he think he can do it and get away with it?
SE
Agree.
I mate not rate Clevs as a potential world beater, but I rate him in the CM far better than I ever will with Giggs.
Yet Giggs played for all 94 minutes.
I don't really rate Welbeck as a striker, yet, but I definately will never rate him as a winger.
United wouldn't have lost against city if cleverly, Nani and Valencia played in their positions and giggs, welbeck and young didn't play at all! Welbeck is just plain god awful, and how he plays is beyond me.....to think the very good kagawa sits on the bench!
It doesn't make sense playing players out of position when you have options available to fill in that area anyway, why play a winger in midfield when you have other actual central midfielders to play there, same goes with the wingers.
We lost because SAF didn't react to the red card. Jose did.

dead right.
Welbeck does everything brilliantly right up until the vital final ball. Then he goes all wobbly legged. Whether that is a shot or Cross.
His general all round play is very good I think. But what's the point of that if you don't ever do anything at the end of it. It's like having the fittest wife in the world but you're not allowed to sleep with her. Pointless.
If he doesn't improve quickly in the final third he should be moved on.

This is why i still have a lot of belief in Welbz..
He is just amazing taking the ball in cramped spaces, running and commiting defenders, winning headers, keeping hold of possession etc.
All he really lacks is finishing, which i am sure will come as he develops more.
I feel that in 2 seasons, we will have an excellent all-round attacking player.
Just watched the goals for the first time, didn't realise how bad giggs was at fault and the lack of tackles for the winner!!!!! Arrgghhhhh!! Also wtf was Gary doing for the leveller? But seeing it live made me mad but watching on YouTube has made me really angry at giggs fooking stupid flick

...........................
Over the past few seasons i have wondered what the midfielders (seasoned pro and youth team) think when they see Welbeck, Giggs, Rooney, Jones, lining up in midfield ahead of them, i don't blame Paul Pogba for wanting to leave, his form for Juve has proved his decision correct.
I do rate Welbeck however, his link up play and composure during the build up of the attack is brilliant, he needs to be more composed infront of goal though, he tends to snatch at chances.
He's only 22 and there's plenty of room for improvement in terms of his goal scoring, people seem to think that he's never ever going to improve, it's not like he's in his 30's and SAF is playing him out of blind loyalty.

These are the situations SAF makes a substitute now a days.
We are winning 3 or 4 nill do he gives game time to squad players. Nothing really wrong with that.
We have fallen behind and there are about ten minutes left.
I can't remember the last time he made a sub, when it was obvious we needed to change something.

By thier high standards Barca have looked very vulnerable this season, in the CL. Especially at the back.
I think a lot of it is to do with players out of their comfort zone.
it was inevitable we would have a tough time at the end of the season.
theres nothing to be unduly worried about. yet!

Why the fek would you think that?
Does anyone think that Alex doesn't think he has anyone on the bench that can change a game.

Why?
The most stupid thing Vs City was the CM. Carrick and Giggs offer very little physically and Yaya Toure had a field day. Carrick and Anderson starting would have completely changed the game. Giggs is not a CM, and unfortunately is no longer good enough to play a full game. A cameo performance for 20 minutes here and there is fine but he is just too old and weak to go the distance.
