Balse was the best possible draw in terms of getting to the final, worst in terms of our fixture pile up

I'm glad we play away first we've been crap in all of our away games so far

Wasn't the CL draw supposed to be done first. I wouldn't take Basel too lightly, they did know Spurs out after all, though I think you'll win.

Smash em for us

Basel is best for us

Fenerbache would probably destroy away from home and Jorge Jesus would be extremely motivated to get a result over us

You'll stuff Basle.

This does mean however that if we do go through we will have an away game final

The final is going to be an 'away' game no matter what, isn't it?

We must respect Basle, they're a decent team and have been knocking on the door for a while now ,this is there biggest game(s) ever.

Perfect draw.

Beat them for us

You should beat them comfortably unless you have tendacies to shoot yourselfs in the foot like us.

I think along with benfica this is the hardest possible draw. Would've preferred the Turks

Really? I'd say Fenerbache would be the toughest draw for us especially if we played at home first

Marvellous

Bruce and Buck can get to their banks on club time

Basle are half decent but the weakest in the draw.

VERY hazardous draw, reminds me of the feeling i got when we drew Swansea in the LC. It's the classic underestimate at our peril tie, we've drawn the one team who'll identify this prize as their zenith.

Second leg at the Bridge could ultimately prove the difference, that was a right touch

Fernabache are fanatics, it would mean miles more to them to win Europa than Balse and Benfica are a good team.....

Liverpool knocked 5 past Basle in Basle and last night they were distinctly average agst Spurs.

Mind you, we have been appalling in the Europa

Fenerbahce are fanatical by nature, this competition won't mind anything particuplarly special beyond it being the semis and a realistic chance to grab some silverware. For Basel this'll represent the opportunity to coronate a project, bit like Shakhtar, they've been quietly bubbling away in the background for some time now. That's a very dangerous situation when you factor in this competition not being our highest priority - it's another Swansea.

Perform well and we should beat them, but get complacent or just frictionally unlucky and we could have a right battle here.

*won't mean anything........

That's why playing away first favours us

If we mess up here and lose say 2-1 we'll still have an away goal and be in a position to win the 2nd leg

Against Swansea we played at home first and since we gave away 2 away goals without reply the 2nd leg became a near impossible task

We have to get an away goal
