You are missing one crucial point here, that makes the new system entirely different to the current one.

With the current system, there is GUARANTEED change to clubs lining up in the top flight at the start of the season....with 12-12-18, there is nothing but a CHANCE of change happening.

Folk are just sitting talking willy nilly that if 12-12-18 didnt work it could just easily be changed, like that, click of the fingers and its done BING....eh naw!

12-12-18 means a club like Killie could be as mince as they wanted for half a season, give it everything they've got in the middle 8 games, and remain a top flight club, getting top flight money....hell they dont even have to finish top of an 8 team league, 4th would do it!

That, is bollox!!....and how difficult will it be to get teams to vote for changing a structure that makes it easier to remain in the top flight than a one up one down system which is already limited.

Folk are completely and utterly missing this point.....this 12-12-18 is guy near fcking Thatcherism, it makes it easier for the rich to keep getting ricerh and remain rich, with the rest fighting below to get a slice of the action, thats what it does, its BAWS

BUT what you get is a stronger middle 8 teams.

The money that 1st in the group gets is more than 5th in the current set-up.

The top 4 all get more cash than present with 4th place and below all getting more money for that respective position relative to that of today.

In real terms you are closing the gap between the Partick Thistle, Morton, Falkirks of the world and the Dundee, Killie, St Mirren's etc.

While the positions may not change, they could in theory all swap over. Each game would therefore mean something to the clubs.
