Trying another Euros with Croatia. Not the best start against France, as Henry scores a free header from Gallas' cross, then makes it 2-0 with a cool chip. Couldn't get near him

Spain next. Xavi delivers a curling ball and Torres powers in a header to give them the lead. Klasnic breaks away, Casillas can't take the ball and the striker prods it into an empty net to level. Balaban collects the ball and fires in from the edge of the area to get what proves to be the winner

Croatia not great technically but a good, physical unit, fun to use in a 3-4-1-2. All four teams on 3 points after 2 games.

Czech Republic in the final group game. Srna hits the bar with a free kick, but a passing move provides him with another chance and he blasts a shot across goal to get us a 1-0 win. We go through along with France, who beat Spain to top the group.

Italy in the quarter finals. Buffon makes a couple of good saves from Prso. Balaban leaves Buffon rooted as he hits the post, but the keeper recovers to brilliantly keep out Prso's rebound. In the 90th minute Totti goes through and Simunic takes a red card to send it to extra time.

Del Piero crosses and this time Totti isn't denied as he heads Italy in front. It looks like our chance is gone as Balaban shoots wide, but Prso manages to spin and find Modric who turns in from close range

It goes to penalties, where Prso and Gilardino are denied. Perotta hits his kick wide, leaving captain Niko Kovac to step up and hit the winner

Netherlands in the last four. Klasnic shoots wide of an open goal, while Cocu's shot is blocked by Tudor as the first half ends goalless.

In the second half Robert Kovac deflects Kuyt's effort over, while van Bommel's long range effort is tipped wide. Pletikosa comes out to meet a corner, leaving Kuyt with a free header which two defenders can't keep out. Kuyt then drives in a low shot, which falls to van Nistelrooy to tap in. Was hoping it'd be offside 2-0, we go out.

We have a third place playoff against France, who beat us in the first group game, but it's another poor performance. Wiltord heads the only goal. Did alright overall

So let me get this straight, you won the World Cup with Sweden but couldn't qualify with Spain, sounds legit m8

Last few have been Euros mate, but yeah. Sweden just a much more effective unit, not to mention their stats are pretty good. Quite realistic as Spain were still perennial underachievers in 2k6. Portugal even worse.

Like when I trounced Liverpool with Tromso but fell to Lillestrom

Aye. Sweden and Croatia good units, the former just have a bit more pace, skill and variety in attack. Defence fell apart with Spain, not sure how best to utilise attackers. Portugal were just the worst, supposedly great technique but they were shambolic. Figo who?
