And EA couldn't have done all this last year? There should be rules to stop these greedy companies making new versions of a game every year and thus holding back from producing the best they can.
Dunno what to make of it yet
'On that note, Fifa 14 is also set to build on last year's first-touch control system, which varies how effectively a player receives the ball depending on his skill, position and the speed and angle of delivery. This time, EA Sports is introducing variable dribble touches, so sprinting players will push the ball forward at differing distances, again based on their skills; a stylish midfielder will keep the ball close to them, but a hulking defender may well push it out further, giving opposing players the chance to steal possession. Whatever, the days of having the ball stick to the runner's feet are over. "It will transform how you think about sprinting," says Channon.'
I'm sure that's exactly what they said about 13.
'And certainly, closer more intelligent marking should rid us of some of those cheap scoring scenarios, like coming in at an angle from the edge of the box and striking across goal, which some Fifa regulars have turned into an unfailing exploit.'
Yes please. This is so unrealistic at the moment, what do the defenders think? They fall for every fake shot and let you cut inside so easily.

Barely anything at first look but it seems more contextual.
New career mode menus look nice and if they're not laggy and reduce the time just sitting around and stopping with emails that'll be good. If they're just a graphical update though, what a waste of time.
Couldn't I just keep my current game and just have players updated? I, m a little resentful of buying what is essentially the same game every year.
If the game was good enough I'd have no problem with that either. But it's nowhere near.

FIFA has got to be the biggest con. The technology for all this stuff was available since 07, yet they spoon feed it out each year like it's the latest discovery!
Still buy it every year though
Why do they have to add stupid little things every year?
Why can't they just fix all the fking bugs of the current game.
Every year its 'OH we have introduced PERSONALITY PLUS, ITS AMAZING'
Play the game.... personality plus what? can't see anything.
next game: 'NEW TACKLING SYSTEM AND IMPACT ENGINE, BRILLIANT!'
tackling system is awful, it can be abused by having the player you are controlling just sitting back and holding RB(xbox) and letting the computer do the work for you.
impact engine in fifa 12 was just pure embarrassment, how they could release it how it was is just proof of how poor a company ea are nowadays.
the addition of the shirt pull too, can be abused to absolute sh it.
fifa 13 : IMPACT ENGINE VERSION 2,
again..... a bit better but still seriously crap, i was playing yesterday and my player fell on top of somebody else and they were stuck there for about a minute on the floor.
fifa 13 advertise the first touch system to be so good, such great technology etc, so realistic.
so why is Messi with 96 ball control and dribbling struggling to fkin control the ball you Fe cks!?
my virtual pro also has like 95 ball control yes consistently cannot control the ball on pro clubs....
well done EA + FIFA, well done
I will still waste 40 quid on this dogpoo when it comes out, what a mug.
It is fools like me that keep these crooks in business
One more big breath and then go out into the world!!
Same sh|t, different day, need to fix their servers and crap pro clubs ANY players first
FIFA 13 was basically a huge disappointment. It's a strong word but I think unacceptable is an... erm... acceptable way to describe it. They need to fix every last stupid glitch, freshen up the features a bit and dramatically improve the gameplay for 14.
FIFA 13 was basically a huge disappointment for me. OMG It's a strong word but I think unacceptable is an... erm... acceptable way to describe it. They need to fix every last stupid glitch IMO, freshen up the features a bit and dramatically improve the gameplay for 14 PML.
I want improvements to the crowd interaction. I want to see the stands erupt when I hit that worldy off the underside of the bar and back up to the roof of the net.
It's a bit embarrassing celebrating in front of a load of people sat down.
Yeah, true. They're probably not going to change that until PS4. FIFA's crowd sounds are better than PES, mainly due to the real chants, but the PES crowd seems to react more to what's actually going on on the pitch. FIFA's crowd tends to cut out sharply at times which just kills the atmosphere. Same with the physical crowd itself, even if they're not perfect, the PES ones react to what's happening. In FIFA you'll have your own fans standing with head in hands and the away fans having a party after you've just scored.
The biggest flaw in FIFA is the scripted goals, whereby a team scores a goal no matter what the opponent does.
For example, if I'm losing 2-0 to the computer, its defence will totally open up and I will score an easy goal. And these scripted goals tend to come on 45 and 90 minutes.
The whole point of a game is the unpredictability. If you can predict what is going to happen, then what's the point? It's akin to the Scottish Premier League!
I've noticed if you're winning then the opposition seems to move up a gear in the final 15 minutes. You suddenly get no time on the ball and they attack like 1970s Brazil.
morale completely ruined fifa.
morale makes it so the player has no control over the outcome of a match.
Your team will start miss controlling balls, won't be able to string 2 passes together and every single ball will bounce back to the opponent no matter how many times you tackle. It's crap
Yeah. It's a good idea, and it's realistic that certain teams will up their game if they need to get a result late on but the way it's done is really shoddy and unrealistic. They just decide 'we're going to play better than you now'.
