After listening to Deano's verbal garbage and Stale's incoherent ramblings, I had quite forgotten the down to earth, plain speaking style of MM.
He didn't speak very often but when he did it was wise to listen to what he said.
Wise words from MM but I’d go even further. It isn’t ours we are just the custodians at this point in time. It is our responsibility to make sure that when the time comes to pass the baton to the next generation we pass it over in the best possible state.
Mick certainly came out with some great lines during his tenure of the club. I imagine he continues to do so with his new side, and one would only need to look at his post-match reactions there to see what they're like.
Honest is the best word to describe Mick, painfully and brutally honest at times .... would never pass the blame on to someone else, be it players, refs or directors.
ok.........so you all love Mick
but, did you all love Mick when we had won 2 in 22 shortly before WBA's 5th goal went in ????
fickle
“fickle”? Us? Remind me Steve – how many managers have you sacked recently? When does the ground work start on the new Steve Bull stand? What team do you support?
Shown a fair bit of fickleness on some pretty major issues yourself recently haven’t you?
sacking a shat manager is not acting fickle !
the SB was put on hold as the (fickle fans) only turn up when we're top of the league
LFC
Be honest with me tatts.........what did you think when that 5th goal went in ?
I thought "B0llcks, that's relegated us. The fans will riot, Mick will be sacked and we won't win again this season."
What I didn't realise is that we would barely win THIS season either.
Honestly Steve? I thought well that’s him gone at the end of the season then regardless of whether we stay up or not.
Did you consider that option?
the SB was put on hold
That's another mistake. Steve Bruce should have been appointed.
Oh well you know what they say “you live and you learn nothing whatsoever repeating the same stupid mistakes ad infinitum until the sweet release of death is finally upon you”.
I’m paraphrasing obviously.
is that what they say ?
the football leading up the sacking of MM was at best shocking !!! no manager would have survived that run of results.......nor should they !
agree ?
The Premier League football leading up to the sacking of Mick was played in the Premier League, arguably, the best league in the world against the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal and was acceptable, especially when we beat the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City. Mick should have survived this based on the fact that he was the best manager that Wolves had for a generation. And so he should have survived with loyalty and support from the Chairman of Wolves, who lost his bottle on the ski slopes of Switzerland and didn't even have the decency to sack the best manager that Wolves had for a generation, himself.
I'm paraphrasing, obviously.
Steve I don’t really want to get into that debate again it’s been done to death. Instead let me ask you a question.
If an employee of one of your organisations had the same track record with major decisions as you’ve had with the Wolves recently would they have survived?
Christ, don't go there Tatter. Morgan's made some balls-ups but things could be much, much worse.
I'd argue only the dressing room entry, Mick's sacking and the total replacement mess was Morgan's fault.
Stale was a gamble but one we were all happy to take, Saunders had got Doncaster doing very well and, again, we all said no to the usual merry-go-rounders. We wanted someone fresh and a bit different.
None of us guessed that Stale would be SO hopeless or that the players would be so bad or that we'd get so little boost from three new managers. I don't think any of those things are really Morgan's fault.
Arguably he should have spent in January or we should have taken a loan but in a way I respect him, what's the point of having a really defined financial model and then breaking it. If we are spending what we can spend while remaining solvent then that's the way it is, that's not Morgan's fault.
Anonymous/b/ro (please pick a user name!) don’t let him know I know this but it isn’t really Morgan
Cyp......Mick was the best for a generation no doubt ! but when you get beat up every week and the manager has had £45mil to spend, and the lads have lost self belief.....its time to move on ! of course i'm paraphrasing !
Tatts....yes
