Gary Kenneth-Mr.Versatile as he's known in Dundee. Can play right back, centre-half or striker. You would have to pay him the going rate though, say, similar to another utility player at Rangers...Steven Whitakker

Rangers should sign Jamie Murphy from Motherwell. The blues have enough players to stick the ball between the sticks, they just don't have enough quality to create good opportunities. Murphy would do that.

jamie murphys a good shout. Terrific young player. Not sure hes a 30 goal a season striker but he is quality.

johnny russell or adam le fondre?

a kid who's scored about 10 league goals so far in his career or a guy who plays in England's 4th division? C'mon buddie I think a team of Rangers stature can do better than that.

Need a big no nonsense strong forward of the Kevin Kyle mode...not saying him exactly but we need a brute up there to win the ball, keep it, run at defenders without easily being pushed off or falling down, not scared to shoot from anywhere. Think when Hearts get up and running with him, together with Templeton and Sutton they will have a real strong front line.

Forget Scott McDonald man, the guy will always be remembered fondly for Helicopter Sunday, and despite playing for Celtic I don't think that would count against him, but he simply isn't good enough.

We have better players here already

John Carew would be a good signing

Kalinic of Blackburn, would get him for 3m

Kalinic is a Croat team mate of jelly ? Would be good partnership

There's more likelihood of Jelavic going to Blackburn than Kilinic going to Scotland. We must be more practical fellas.

I would take Mcdonald, he scores goals, i just don't know how since theres nothing overly special about him. Bit of an enigma, kinda like Averladze was.

Murphy is the one player mentioned I think we should have gone for from the start. Great young talent with a bit of skill.

Daly is a good shout but after the goodwillie affair, i can't see us doing business with Utd for some time.

Any of those, or Fraser Travers at Southampton, and I think Craig MacKenzie who's at Hartlepool (I think) could definitely do a job for you.

Dame n'Doye, sengalese striker who plays for FC Copenhagen. Good season last year with two goals already this season.

Bjorn Klemnicx, plays for NEC, Belgian striker.

Garra Dembele, French striker who plays for one of the Sofia clubs.

Mads Junker, Danish striker who plays for Roda.

All 4 players had good seasons last year and are the sort who would be looked at by mid table Premiership clubs at some point or another. Therefore could see Rangers as a stepping stone giving us re-sale value as well.

One last shout would be Ricky Van Wolf-Whistle from Utrecht who knows how to score against Celtic.

Given that we currently have Jelavic, Beattie (please let someone take him so this list is wrong), Healy, Lafferty and wee Naismith can play up there I don't think we should be looking to buy another striker.

I think it would be better to look for wingers, Murphy or Verhoek would be good shouts and try to get a striker on loan for a season later in the window.

There has not been a huge amount of ideas from people since this thread started so there's not a huge talent pool (within our price range) that we can pick from. There are however several clubs in England with too many strikers that maybe we can take on loan at the end of the month?

Tonights game will have a big bearing on all these plans though. If we can squeak through we can move to get someone before the next round and the carrot of CL football may allow us to bring in decent striker.
