I'm happy with things. Looking back to January when we were the laughing stock of the division if not English football, the boys have turned it around.
More work carried out in the summer should see a few new faces and deadwood removed.
I see we are starting nice and early with our first preseason game already announced. Mansfield on July 13th.
It has truly been a 'roller-coaster' of a season, which has left me an emotional and physical wreck!! But, as I’ve said before, whilst we can disappointed with an apparent fizzle out, I would have gladly taken the end of year league position back in Feb, during the darkest days of Mister Ecks reign. What a nightmare that period was!
As Webbo, I’m a bit more optimistic about next season now. We were an absolute mess at the start of this season when SOD took over, at least the current manager has something to build on....and (hopefully!) about £10M to spend!!!.
It's been a mad sesson. Some very good decisions and some very bad ones have given us real highs and lows. But we've ended up in a decent place, eveen if our season ends up fizzling out we're in good position to mount a proper promotion push next year.
From the low plateau of last close season we made very good progress in very quickly putting together a good, if unbalanced squad and continued to progress towards the edge of the playoffs.
Then the wheels came off. Suits got sacked as well as the manager. I was happy to see Martha go but I still feel it was wrong to sack SOD. It turned out to be even more of a mistake to appoint AM.
After six very worrying weeks sanity was finally restored, and with it rapid progress to once again put us within touching distance of the playoffs. The January transfer window was a bit disappointing; with a couple of key signings, I think we could have definitely made the playoffs.
So as the close season approaches I'm very optimistic. We will need to be busy in the transfer market again this summer. Jara, Hutch, Ward, Sharp, and Henderson will all have to be replaced and added to. I'm sure the manager has a list of players he would like and hopefully the owner has the cheque book to fulfill his wishes.
The relative success BD has achieved this year has of course increased the pressure on him to deliver promotion next year - but hopefully he will be up to the job
That January window!!!? ffs! I think we messed up there, but then we should have made more of the following emergency loan window.

^ You forgot to add, Nigel stating this is his best side since arriving at the club 4 years ago. Although we are still fighting relegation -_-
Has anyone else realised both our right backs are out injured
Hutch is doubtfull and Jara won't play again this season
What's wrong with the CC?
Good job we have Mr Halford in the squad then!
Think Halford will move to RB if Hutch is unfit and hopefully Ayala (not Collins) will move to CB.
Clutching at straws a bit but if we win and Bolton lose we are back in control again, regardless of the Leicester Result.
All hinges on Bolton though, even if they get a draw it will be nigh impossible for us to get into the playoffs as they will beat blackpool on the last day of the season at their place.
Just hope Cardiff want to end the season on a high!
Unless we beat Millwall by 4 or more goals but at the rate we have been going at, i would just be happy for a 1-0 win
Medial knee ligament problem for Jara. B*llocks!!!
Are you sure about Ayala instead of Collins. Bit risky, that, SBD!
Ayala was good when I saw him play, a lot better then Collins, yes he may be rash but after Collins last game when he just stood there as Cardiff headed in the goals, I would rather try Ayala, will probably be Collins though.
Need to win though, literally no other result will do and we all have to hope unless we somehow do the remarkable and thrash Millwall (which I'm not betting on) that Cardiff beat Bolton!
It isn't over yet but it could be come Saturday at 5pm.
Come on Forest, I know we most likely will not go up but would still like to have a go in the playoffs even if that means losing in them (again!)
Shame about Jara
I would sign him up. I think he's on a free as well. Good squad player and tries hard. Will only get better IMO

Yes - come 5pm on Saturday, all our new threads could be holiday related, like on the DCFC board!
The biggest emotion for me all season was complete shock at the hiring of McLeish. My god. What was that about?

They hired McLeish because Fergie told them too. Fawaz has met him a few times, he asked for opinion on managers and Fergie recommended his mate.
That seems to be what a lot are saying and it seems to fit the events. Anyway whatever the reasons it doesn't matter too much now.
I have heard that as well Sutton, but why would anyone listen to Fergie at all, I do not want him anywhere near my club as he epitomizes all that is wrong with football.
In fact if Fergie told me to do something, i would do the exact opposite (football related that is!)
We knew from day one McLeish wouldn't work at Forest as it was like the Wolly Mark 2.
I am just glad we have finally after a wasted season and 3/4 got the manager back who is right for this club!
Dutch Forest,
You forgot two important events. You lost, home and away to The Rams
You know Ramdini, if you hadn't been able to beat us home and away when we had the Wolly and Cotternill in charge then in fact on hindsight now it would be regarded as quite embarrassing as it certainly was for us to have them as our managers.
Remember your record though when BD was in charge in his 2 full seasons, you lost at ours then won at yours in his first full season then lost both times the following season?
Next season (if we don't go up) you will be panicking as your only highlight in every one of your seasons will be taken away again!
Roll on the Derby match!

Bull!
Check your FACTS!
You won at our place and drew at yours....
4 points that kept you up. Without our help this season you'd be facing League 1
Next season we won't be so generous
Oh he is on about this season (my mistake) as this season is still on for us, so I can see why they are referring to it as last season as it ended last week for them when they were able to secure survival.
Either way the facts still apply and you were not even able to beat us at your place when we had the Wolly mark 2 in charge!
In fact I was at the game and we were the better team
