God never understood it myself, would leave my current employers in a nano second for more cash and better prospects
RVP will be more loved and appreciated at United, Manchester is his real home now and he'll feel like a family member. Just like the Dortmund fans relationship with their players
I don't hate RVP. In fact, I understand why he left. Just like every gooners does.
I'm more annoyed with Wenger and the board for selling him to United.
It was down to them at the end of the day.
Yes - I remember how you guys talked about Rooney when he was threatening to leave - at least we don't send fans round to the players house with threats of violence...
RVP's statements on leaving were those of an absolute and his reception at the Emirates was fully justified
I love Wazza, when he made that statement it crushed all of our souls trust me. But he stayed, he made more money out of the situation and to this day fans are still split over him. People think Fergie will move him on this as revenge for the contract situation
Dubbed, say what you will about your board but they take the pragmatic approach to football, he was leaving and Utd made a decent offer for a player in his last year of his contract and age
That said they have undermined Wenger with the continuity and frequency of the sales, the Utd sale might have been the final straw but no one could really blame RVP
A massive pay rise and far better job prospects... you'd all be liars if you're claiming you wouldn't jump ship
RVP did nothing wrong.
Not at all. RVP's choice was understandable.
I don't think United would be his first choice though. He came out with that statement, and sort of kinda went for the only team that wanted him bar Juventus.
RVP, as long as he still bursts a gut for the cause he will be tolerated, he has blown a chance to be a legend in some folks eyes but can anyone really blame a player for wanting more?
Let us not kid ourselfs that players are immune to greed, those who have want more, way of the world
He hasn't busted much this season and it's led people to believe he could be off, his body language on the pitch has been very off recently.

RVP, I have felt his touch and passing have been poor but he seems to be a player that raises the game of those around him
Part of me thinks we could do better but another part thinks he is a player that if we lose would make us poorer but that is something I would trust Fergie with
Wtf? Are you a Celtic or United fan?
Dubbed, I hear you like it deep
Get a grip for FFS, this is not an amateur philology moment, how many of us do not want more?
Dubbed, I am a football fan, I do like Celtic and Utd but I am not immune to other teams, is that not the point of a public football forum?
I have had some decent banter with the Gooners in the past, just thought I would give an opinion on this or is democracy dead on this page?
Relax piffle. You're free to like the sc'um. Just found how said "we" amusing.
I truly believe that football fans are irrational when it comes to their teams, away from the football all the separates us is the colour of our scarfs, I exclude Mafia boy and HenryKamp from this as they are WUMS of the first order only not as smart as they think they are
To sum up, Wenger needs to spend, you have the cash, does he have the bottle?
Dubbed, you sound just like a Rangers fan on our boards with the liking the "sc'um" part
Not even trying to chat or WUM, I honestly think what RVP did was what most of us would have
He showed class on sunday when your fans were booing him, even when he scored the penalty, he could've celebrated but he didn't.
RVP made the right decision in joining us, he;s been class for us and his goals have helped us to win the league.
Giggs, just what both of us wanted yet there are some who would blame him for that?
Poor post, he only wanted to win something, which he did, you would begrudge a great servant that? poor form Gooners, more money, an EPL winners medal and hope of more, what more could he have expected at you?
I see what you're saying except you've forgotten something very important:
"you would begrudge a great servant that?"
Nope! I most certainly would not. But only HALF of 6 out of 7 seasons "match fit"...
DOES NOT A "GREAT SERVANT" MAKE!
Had he been a "Great servant" there is no way we would not have won something in his time. The only reason we never is because we ALWAYS missed his goals for 4-5 months of EVERY season barr his last.
He never served us, he actually COST us.
Tbh i agree with yr point about not being a great servent but it was arsene wengers job to provide a decent back up for rvp who would score those goals and not chit like bendtner
I'd agree on that Wilshere, only to back up RVP with the amount of time he spent injured is alot to ask of any second choice player. You could even say RVP's backups were hampered by his constant injury.
I can think of a few times the backups were on nice runs when he "returned to fitness" and they just got dropped. Chamakh's Record ECL scoring run is the best example of this. Chamakh was flying til Wenger dropped him for RVP. Killed Chamakh's streak and confidence in one fowl swoop.
