Kevin Phillips ???

Grant McCann from Posh? Sign up Neil Danns?

Gary Taylor Fletcher is out of contract this summer... I'd love to see him back at town.

I think Kevin Phillips is retiring this summer.

just another point to make..

we seem to be getting some stick on the sky sports channels re the last few minutes of the game on Saturday..

no one seems to mention that Barnsley had the ball and that we had the point we required...we didn't waste time, the ball was in play etc.

no one seems to mention that posh hadnt got enough points over 46 games...

they also lost on Saturday??????

Darren fergurson would have played our last couple of minutes for the whole 90 if it had "saved" his team and would have given any interviewer a "daft look" if they had questioned his "tactics"...

posh , f-ck off....

sky sports, from a channel that has single handedly brought in "mass cheating"(win at all costs for the cash)!!! and the attitude "f-ck the supporters who go to games"...you can really f-ck off...

Will Grigg from Walsall?
Alan judge on a free?

We should go for top league 1 players that wouldn't be on stupid money

mcann if he can keep his lifestyle under control...
its why he is still at Peterborough...

no "journeymen" from the premier league looking for a 2 year contract whilst they sort out their lives before disappearing...

I bet Phillips is on a premier league bench next season.. whatever it is, he still has "it"... if you could afford to have him in the squad and use him sparingly, you would..

hull are preparing a "move" for Jordan Rhodes..so he will get his "move" to the premier league whilst making a shed load of cash this season... He seems to have had advice that "paid off" for him...

Thats ok in lg 1 , but you can't go with not paying stupid money in the championship , if we do it will be another struggle next season .

loui..
wolves paid silly money(they had no choice-contracts etc)..
Blackburn paid very, very silly money...
Bristol citys wages were 167% of their income...
I rest my case....
Unless we can get 15/16 thousand every week and more for the "bigger games" then we will have to "cut our cloth"...
its up to the people of Huddersfield now to "back" the club.. the championship is no place for one bloke to "bankroll" a team, its just too expensive when the returns are not enough..
admittedly its also up to deano and the club to "show" some "forward movement" with regards to the team, not just the commercial side of the club..

posted on 6/5/13

The crowds won't getting any bigger people just haven't got the money anymore , and to be honest I don't want to just see town being happy just to be in the championship , I want dean to say we're going for the premier otherwise if he doesn't i might have to rethink were my well earned money shoud be spent .

loui..
if we had been pushing this season I guarantee the crowds would have got bigger..
Watford increased their crowds by almost 30 per cent...
once Bolton got going they increased by over 20%..

it happens..

like I said some impetus from the club on the footballing side and the crowds will increase..

I want to go and watch town trying to win games and to have a good to reasonable chance of achieving those wins..
if it brings promotion then so be it..if it means we are challenging and are in and around the play offs etc then that's also good..

the idea that dean can "challenge" with the likes of qpr/reading and possibly wigan with their massive pay offs isn't sensible..it didn't work for wolves or Blackburn and going down that route is a non starter..

town producing decent football and making forward strides will do for now...You cant "plan" to be in the premier league its just nonsense, the outgoings you will have just cant be "guessed at beforehand, but I do think you can plan and scheme to be a good, challenging championship team and that sort of thinking ahead can get you in some way more "prepared" should the unthinkable happen and you get promoted..
Cardiff have set themselves up over the past couple of years, hull are coming into this in different circumstances and it will show next season..
Southampton got a "team" together over 3 years and were "ready" for the inevitable "struggle", which they have won and won well...
Particular players win games, teams win leagues..

the blades might be "losing" a few players...?

another very, very poor quality game...

Retained list has been announced, to be expected Tom Clarke, arfield and Alan Alan lee have been released, gobern contract extended and talks on going to extend it longer.
Loads of development players been given new deals including Sinnott and a surprising one is that ridehalgh has been offered a new deal as robins wants a closer look at him

Oh and Novak has had a offer on the table since October, would suggest it isn't what he wants but talks are on going

posted on 6/5/13

Novak can't seriously think he can do better than Town...? I thought we would let him go. Hard working, but not up to it for me in the champ over the course of a season.

Disappointed we have let Arfield go. Shows that for every Pilkington and Rhodes theres a bad investment though. £400-600K he cost didnt he?

Somert like that captain, showed glimpses of what he could do but just ran around for 90 mins for the most part. Right to release him

Apart from a couple of strikers, Robins will want at least one box to box midfielder and maybe a quality centre back to add to the remains of the squad.

That still leaves us a bit threadbare though for the inevitable injuries, loss of form and suspensions...

If this is the bulk of the squad for next season...

Smithies/Bennett

Hunt/Woods/Dixon/Ridehalgh

Clarke/Lynch/Gerrard/Wallace

Clayton/Norwood/Gobern/Scannell/Southern/Ward/Atkinson/Sinnott

Novak/Spencer ?

...then I will be worried, because it hasn't really proved good enough this season...it's only the goals from loanees that's kept us up...Robins may get more out of them, get them fitter and develop an improved game plan...but it still looks a weak squad of players..

I think we'll be depending on the development/ youth players who the club keep raving about to fill in for injuries. It's what most clubs will have to do now

Vaughan's wages are well within our budget, as long as he doesn't want a payrise there;s no reason we can't sign him.

I want beckford as well .

goals against....
watching us "defending" would have been amusing if it hadnt been so pitiful ....
we were not great at it in the 1st division..
first thing to do is to work on bringing in players and adopting some better defending methods..
goalscoring is great, but we still needed two to get a home draw against the 2nd worst defence in the league on Saturday...
priorities in this division is to firstly be hard to beat and hard to score against..Cardiff won this division without scoring a sh-tload and hull were not scoring machines...
Rhodes is top scorer in a team that only just managed to beat the drop like us..
no more good hidings would be a good place to start..

wolves sack dean saunders????

another large pay out to go along with the ludicrous wages paid to their footballing "failures"...

its not managers, its the overpaid numpties purporting to be "professionals" that are the problem..

robins didn't change much, if anything at all at town..
the jokers just tried a little harder and found that we could, with hard work aligned to the undoubted talent we have, win a few games and not lose the last one...

Grayson started great but then the players, led by klutz, started backing away in games and it all went to sh-te.. He stood on the touchline waving them forward and "nothing"....
Someone, somewhere was running the tactics and it wasn't Grayson..
He "lost" the dressing room????
Player power at town cost us a 12 game run without a win..
I think dean needs to look closely at that and decide what "he" wants to do...
Everyone is entitled to their opinions, one bloke, the manager makes the final decision and the owner backs him to the hilt...if that means getting rid of certain players then so be it...
Saunders will be sacked when he never had a chance, all the overpaid, underachievers wearing the shirts will be ok...

posted on 7/5/13

.............& Jackett resigns.

Saunders. wanted to stay on & no doubt put things right, he said as much. needing players who wanted to wear the shirt, That said a lot about what he thought of some of his players attitudes.

D Furguson as yet won't commit. Does he think he can move onto a bigger better club ? or is he concerned he can't do any more on a small budget compared to the clubs he has to compete against.

O'Driscoll said he was more often than not..left scratching his head.

I said it last season, & it needs to be said again, The defense should the main priority. Just like Buxton said when he took over all those years ago.
He left the forwards to their own affairs in reletive terms !
Untill he sorted out the defense.

Disappointed with the decision making, & the way the club has operated this season.
I've been back 3 times this season, & felt underwhelmed each time.
It's only my opinion of course, But that's the way I feel.

darn..
even though he gritted his teeth and made the right "body shapes" and language before and after, the errors were down to him, again..
jack hunt can play full back, he just cant with clarkie and a.n. other...
its taken woods all season to almost get a grip on it but he still gets "caught" out regularly when he starts "thinking" like a defender/footballer....cos those next to him have just "run away" or have gone forward too far to try and win a ball they haven't a hope in hells chance of doing so...
too tight, too far away, wrong decisions over and over and over again.. ball watching(which is a crime in my book) and trying to "defend" TOO DEEP TOO OFTEN AND FOR TOO LONG, has to stop now...

you wouldn't employ a gas fitter to do your central heating , no matter how keen he was or how hard he worked, if he simply couldn't do the whole job and make a good fist of it...

same with professional footballers, im afraid..

darn, the club are extending the cheaper season cards...its a start..

did you see that Blackburn had 61 paid "footballers" on their books????
Rhodes is 40 grand, murphy is 30 grand and at least 6 others are on 20 grand plus a week...
190 grand a week plus the wages of the other 53????
astronomical on crowds averaging less than 18k.....
We are not so bad when all said and done..
