When you grow up in Ossy or Accy you are one or the other! My uncles was all Rovers daft so I ended up a Rover but I had loads of mates who where Clarets, sure we had loads of different opinions over the clubs and players etc!I as one individual would not wish Keane or Venkys even on Burnley as it is a local club.

"Just discovered that Rovertalk place OOJW (must be getting concerned that I'm doing too much actual work at work these days!) and noticed you're a regular. Seems a decent size, like the old 606, but not sure I can bring myself to venture on. Anti-Pedersen, anti-Allardyce, a whiff of Venky-apologism. Thinking I'd find it very difficult to behave myself in such an environment!"

Hiya mate, long time no chat.

As for the last word on the classless winker.....he remains and always will be a classless winker. No defence of anything he did, said or was involved in is acceptable to me.

As to Rovertalk....I wanted this site to be a success like the old BBC 606 days, but alas not enough fans migrated, or have simply stopped bothering. I therefore joined BRFCS and Roverstalk as you know.

Roverstalk has some old 606 posters on it....RoverTheTop...RoverTheMoon....MaccyT..., etc....yeah they have their own views and hated SA, lauded the Venky's and Kean and seemingly have managed this last two years without exploding in rage. Genuine Rovers fans however and I do not mind alternative views but the abuse for MGP, SA and others gets a bit tiresome of course.

It would be good if you joined as I enjoy your contributions, but you may also find it frustrating at times!

Haha well must say I have been tempted, but I highly doubt the other characters on there would be very impressed. Plus I always think its nice to be polite to everyone for a while when you first join a forum. Which with comments such as:

"Surely it has to be accepted that there was no long term future under Allardyce?"

to contend with would be a monumental effort. Will have a think about it anyway.

How are you keeping? Business still ticking over, family all right, renewing next season? I'm in the "looking for an excuse to buy a ST" bracket at present, but must say far from convinced Venkys will provide one.

Fine thanks. Business very quiet but most I speak with say the same. I am certainly not retiring anytime soon! Hope all goes well at your end.

Believe it or not I am slowly wondering whether it is worth renewing next season. I close my business to attend the games and other than the first half against Hudersfield, the Brum game and the Palace game I have not enjoyed it very much, if at all.

My Mum is ill, my son is off to University and faced with the choice of going alone (reminds me of when I was 13 / 14 getting the train from Bamber Bridge to Mill Hill), only to be financially worse off and seriously depressed I am struggling to retain my interest.

I have had a season ticket for 23 of my 45 years, but the pride I once had in the club is dieing and I do not feel the same affinity for the classless owners, the mercenary players, the leeches and hangers on, nor much of our recent management. 5 different people in charge in one season. Who would have thought this year could be worse than last?

. The Venky's seriously have a lot to answer for.

Yeah I've been to about a third of home games this season and a few more away than usual. Was at the Birmingham and Palace games, both were fairly entertaining. Its certainly been slim pickings down at Ewood this season though, the biggest excuse for some post-match celebrations was probably Dunny's equaliser against the dingles.

Sorry to hear about your mum. I'll let you know if I'm getting one as many of my group have dissappeared of late so I might be on my tod as well.

Couldn't agree more about the club. The only affinity I have now to the playing squad is Rhodes, Pedersen and Dunn. And as nice a guy as Bowyer seems, its debatable whether he's the man to take the club forward. Its a far, far cry from the last time we were down here and all the characters we had around the place then.

Glad to see you guys keep posting!Only need Duggy back and its worth reading and posting again.I understand the feelings about the S Ts as I didnt renew mine ,with a heavy heart after all those yearsI must say.I am really disgusted with the whole setup at Ewood and it will take years to build everything back up to strength. I feel that the heart and soul has been ripped out of my club!.

Couldn';t agree more, Rhodes, MGP and Dunn are the main three, but Hanley and Kean have done little wrong as well. I also like Kane, wholehearted little player, but am conscious he may not be here for long.

Hi Star....am happy to post on here, as we all go back a long way, but it gets a bit dull with only two or three replies to topics.

Lets see what happens pre season with venkys and then we will know or have a good idea what will happen in the new season!Feel sorry for Wolves two consecutive relegations , but for the grace of god we almost joined them.Good club with a rock solid support,it makes one wonder how these things can happen.

Yeah stay in touch BandWH if you get a season ticket and we can take it from here. Tickets still not been advertised to my knowledge @ continued shambles.

Yep will do. Hopefully this board will limp along into next season to.

Hey i am also on Roverstalk along with another great Rovers forum,,this forum is infested with dingles and mainly the clown from Canada,,lol,,Star and Duggy are him and there are others,i just come on here and get great responses but i am peeing my sides laughing at the stuff i get back, but the other forums are great for exchanging different oppinions and you do get good debate back, not like this crazy daisy place..lol..leave it to the dingle he is a sad old git,and just to mention, i have had a season ticket at Ewood since i stopped playing myself in 1978,so i have seen my share.

posted on 9/5/13

good to see old posters dropping in now and again.

think we were pretty lucky not to follow Wolves and put it down to pure luck in snaring Rhodes. anyone think we have the remotest chance of keeping him another season?

would love to think things will change next season but not so deep down I know they won't. this has to be the most fragmented hierarchy that has (dis)graced our once respected club

Walkden how we escaped the drop this season is little short of a miracle and Rhodes one man show!I think as long as that prat Shebby is still at the helm of the good ship Ewood ,then the writing is on the wall! I also think we cant hang on to Rhodes as im sure a big club like Norwich or Cardiff will come waving their chequebook, its just a matter of time.

BandWH....I have a season ticket Block One BBE...2nd row from the top. Where do you normally like to sit?

Hello all, Duggy here, just little me, not me and Star, not from Canada, not a dingle, jeez this is getting tiring but that's democracy I suppose, we have to respect every idiot's point of view and contribution, even strange people with a fixation about mythical dingles and Canada (I think he/she must have a thing for Mounties or Moose or both at the same time (..lol..)

Methinks he might even protest to loud, could he/she be the dingle mole in our midst? I notice he didn't say owt about my Bob Lord and J McIlroy comments a few weeks ago. if he did stop playing in '78 he should know those names and a true Rover would have risen to the bait, hmmm..

So Star, Walkden, OOJW, B&WH and all those regulars who don't use lol every few lines and have a huge complex about undercover dingles; have a good summer!

I'll still be logging in here and look forward to our next season's challenges but I have to tell you that the little claret and blue nelly from the virtual B Hole end does get a bit weary-heck.

Up the Rovers!!!

Duggy is still fab

Duggy the half of canada speak french! The other half go round chasing mooses and wolverines(latin name Gulo gulo).

posted on 11/5/13

Star, how do you know the Latin name for Wolverines, I think you are a man of hidden talents? Canada is nice in summer but much too cold for me. I think our secret claret (the one who thinks you and I are the same bloke) is posting from there; he mentions it too often

If you remember there used to be a poster on the old 606 with a couple of trans Atlantic names, Florida Claret was one, who was also on the old dingles 606 board too. But he faded away and up pops this RB charmer that is obsessed with dingles and Canada.

Worth a thought, he/she might be a escaped sausage-stuffer from the Bob Lord era. That would be worth an "lol"

Have a good neet

Duggy if we was the same we would have problems with our dogs(Rover and Lucy) and both of our missus!Ive been to canada quite a few times only in winters for special things and training, thats why I know quite a bit about the super weasels(Gulo gulo) wolverines .Well, well done Wigan and Dave Whelan its a good day for an ex Rover.

posted on 13/5/13

Star, you do have hidden talent, I hope they paid you to go to Canada in winter! That's a bit cowder than Ossie!

What were you being trained for, Alpine Rescue on Haslingden Grane?! Never seen a Wolverine but I believe they are amazing animals living higher up than any animal in mountains in winter.

The missus and Lucy agree that for us to be the same one would be tricky, maybe for a Dingle that's normal!

Have a good summer mate, Up The Blue and Duggies, as I once wrote on my bedroom wall (Mum was not impressed)

Ok duggy you darren lad im sure we have met because we are two o ld rovers guys ,I cant print things on here because its not football related but my training was special forces.

posted on 13/5/13

Star, I am impressed but it makes me shiver just to think about it! I once spent a nasty few hours bivouacked (sp?) on a Welsh mountain in winter and that was enough for me!
