I've said the same thing about City to a few people and been laughed at. I don't care. I think they will win it this season.
1. City
2. Utd
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool or Arsenal (dependant on us signing a good centre half)
6. Spurs.
I think people are forgetting that City were fighting it out with Spurs for 4th spot for the majority of last season. They only have Arsenal's relegation form to thank for where they finished.
Also, whenever City face a half decent side, they will park the bus and play for 1 point. I don't like that. If you're going to spend 500M + building a team, then at least make sure what you're building is something attractive on the eye.
I think the top 4 will be the same as last season's but if any team is going to drop out, I think it will be City.
There will only ever be one team in Manchester.
I personally don't see Man City winning it. For all there quality I think Mancini still sets them up too defensively in the big games and they still aren't a cohesive unit. If Tevez leaves and Aguero doesn't fire straight away then there isn't a huge amount to be feared from their attack.
Then again Man Utd have a gaping hole in their midfield, Chelsea haven't strengthened what was an ageing squad last year, we don't defend as a team, Liverpool are only aiming for 4th and Spurs are no stronger than last year so who knows?
I actually think Chelsea might nick it unfortunately.

I was hopping we could nick it especially seeing that united still havent signed anyone in the middle but with the ongoing nasri/Cesc issue and wenger refusing to pay an extra mil for players he has been tracking for 2 years I have realised that the management at our club have no ambition to win anything, its all about balancing the books.
I actually thought city would struggle to maitain top 4 but signing of Aguero and the real comitment being shown by players like Yaya,Kompany,De jong and Silva they actually have a core of players that are actually at the top of their game.Lets all be honest is there a better central mid combo than De jong and yaya?
Silva is brilliant but so under rated and if they sign nasri to add on to Aguero they have 2 players who can score goals out of nothing so they dont actually have to play carpet footbal to collect points.
they are the nost balanced side in the prem at the moment and one thing about mancini that he improved about this city side is they know how to defend.
united just have to get a creative player in a central position or they will struggle away from home.
If berbatov leaves as has been reported they might need a striker aswell and it definitely wont be Benzema who i must dare I say it-Starting to look like the fat Ronaldo in football terms.
Chelsea are my favourites.
Imo they will play good, attacking football under AVB and cause teams lots of problems.
I think Chelsea easily have the best defence in the league, so that doesn't need strengthening, their midfield could do with a new face and I can see Torres rediscovering his old form and setting the league alight with Drogba and Sturridge proving great back up.
@ kamran
see my post above, i also thought city could drop out as i felt they are not fluent enough to get points away from home, but the trick here is they know how to defend.players like De jong and kompany are massive and include Jo hart who I do feel is a bit overated but remember a game is 90 minutes all they need is to bring on their galaxy of stars and hope that one of them can score a goal from nothing.
By the way City are also fantastic from set pieces so its advisable not to cenocede a lot of them when you play against them.
The insanely frustrating thing is (even is Nasri or Cesc leave, can't see both going) with 3 QUALITY signings, there is NO REASON at all why Arsenal could not/ should not compete for the title!
The sad truth is, for whatever reason, we all know that the board and Wenger acting on this is far fetched, which in itself is ridiculous? Is it a footballing reason? If so, please tell the fans why. If it's a business reaon, again, please explain.
I expect Arsenal to finish fourth, under the circumstances, injuries (as ever) pending.
@ Kamran
Chelsea are struggling for fluency especially in creative areas thats why they lost to United twice in 2 weeks and against pool at home
this is a transition season for them.I have watched them in preseason and they are still looking for their soul.
Lampard and drogba have carried Chelseas attack for so long its a rebuilding process which will take time.
I dont think their defense is that great and the loss of essien weakens them as well even though he has been struggling for form.
I agree JJG.
City are too defensive to win the title. I think Kompany is the best CB in the league btw.
City are not a side who are going to scare teams as much as Arsenal and Spurs do. They have some quality players like Silva and Aguero (we obviously don't know how he'll adapt yet), but they're not used properly imo. Silva is often wasted out in wider positions and other City attackers don't always do well because the midfield is too defence minded so they don't offer much creativity going forward.
As things stand, the top 3 would be Chelsea. City and United in no particular order. We'll battle it out with Liverpool and Spurs for 4th and I give the Scousers a significant edge in that battle.

I think City will grind out results quite a lot this season. But I think that the squad has so much more potential than it's showing. I think if a more attack minded coach took over at City, they would have a better chance of becoming a real force and overtaking Utd.
I'm gonna make an article about City.
Top 4 will definitely consist of Chelsea, Arsenal, United and City.
Things could change but at this moment in time I believe United are favourites.
In terms of ability City are a better team than United now, but the best team doesn't always win (i.e 07/08, 08/09). Fact is United have the know how and experience and have been there and done it.
I would be surprised if anyone that finished above them didn't win it.

The issue about City being defensive made me think they could drop out of the top 4 but the reason why I have put them as favourites is because of what the other teams have done in the close season.
People forget to win the title all you need is 3 world class players in Defence,Mid and striker the rest can be a supporting cast.
Arsenal,United,Spurs have simply not adressed the issues they had last season.

Tottenham to be honest if they bought 3 players and 2 world class (say according to rumours had bought Mata,Gervinho and Samba) I can honestly put up my hand and say they would push Arsenal off the 4th spot.they are a very fluent side and won a lot of points away from home even against difficult sides like Arsenal & Liverpool and have started to find the formula to beat Chelsea.
they are in my opinion the most improved side but harry cant seem to land his targets so it will be same old.

The big problem I see at City is the fact that they basically have two units in their team. The defensive unit (Goalkeeper, back four, De Jong and Yaya) and the attacking unit (Their 8 billion attacking players.) But they don't really have anyone who links the two. Last season Tevez made up for that because his work rate is immense but it's yet to be seen how much he'll play for them this year.
They've bought big again this summer but they haven't brought in a true playmaker which is what I think they need.
Like someone above said, man for man I think City have the best set players, but they're not being used properly imo.
I mean individually they have the best CB in the league (Kompany), the best box to box midfielder in the league (Yaya), one of the most talented attacking players in the league (Silva) and one of the best strikers on the planet (Tevez).
Arsenal had a very good chance of getting Shay Given who is one of the best goalkeeper's in the Premier League. Why did he go to Aston Villa not Arsenal. If we had Given we would strenghten our defence by a long shot but in another way Szeceny is a good goalkeeper and we should give him a chance. But Given would have been a good back up keeper. Anyone agree with me?
And what was the news between Benzema and Arsenal. If we had Benzema upfront with Van Persie that would be a very big improvement. Anyone agree?
lastly whats the latest news about Bentner leaving Arsenal?
Shay Given is good but I'm not sure he'd be that much of an improvment on Szczesny who I personally think will prove himself to be better than Joe Hart this year. Why would Given swap being Man City's number two to be ours? At Villa he'll get to actually play.
Benzema was just pie in the sky stuff, Real Madrid don't want to sell and he doesn't want to go.

Chesney simply has to be numero uno between the sticks, if Fabianski is reinstalled as the number 1 I'd suggest Wenger be sectioned!
Chesney is already a very capable, confident, domineering presence, something Arsenal have lacked for some time. And of course, logic says he will only improve.
To sign a "new keeper" at a similar and certainly higher level than Ches you are talking outrageous figures and to be frank, there's a real lack of top goalkeepers in the game at this point in time!
If the teams stay as they are currently:
1) Manchester United
2) Manchester City
3) Chelsea
4) Arsenal

It all depends on how well the teams start the season and whether any of them have any collapses in between which would be to their detriment and go on a bad run of form.
Manchester United I put top of the league because they have a winner's mentality which has been diffused through out the entire set of players and because they have one of the best manager's in world football who has accomplished everything. He can get the best out of his players regularly and many managers have trouble in achieving that.
The signing of De Gea has enriched that goalkeeping position. Their defence is fine too. They've got adequate back-up for each position of the back four. United have the second best defence in the league IMO just behind Chelsea. The midfield players may not be filled with creativity and fanciful tricks, but they understand each other well and are always well-organized. A creative player would definitely supplement them. The striking force is just incredible. If you look at how prolific and how fruitful the strikers are and how they link up well with each other and how they always focus on working together to get goals, they've all developed good partnerships with each other. They get results when it matters the most and the way they communicate as a team is just sublime. It really is.
City I've put second, reluctantly, but it's a close call. Personally, I think Chelsea, City or Arsenal could get second but it will all depend on how consistent they are. City had a very good end to the season and they overtook us in the process. Even though many people think the possibility of Tevez going will take its toll on City, I do think that it would encourage the other players to work more and to stop being over-reliant on one player for the goals. If anything, it could be a blessing in disguise. Their tactics are too negative, especially given the money they've spent, but it's still effective. I don't particularly enjoy City's all-defence approach to a game, but if it gets them the results they want, then who are we to judge? And with all the money they are being supplied with, they will be a domestic force that will be difficult to contain.
Football is corrupt these days and the main way for clubs to get their silverware is not by operating via constitutional means , but by provisional companies/sugar daddies bankrolling clubs so that they have unlimited amounts of money to spend on 'success'. It's why City and Chelsea will, in years soon to come, be dominating the Premier League.
Anyways, moving on. Chelsea have taken a risk by taking Villas Boas under the wing because he only managed Porto for one season and we don't know if that was just a one-season wonder or not. A proud achievement, but it was still a huge risk. He's not really done much transfer wise, but he may be helping out with the cohesion of the team. Chelsea are ageing and their players aren't as fluent as they used to be, but they can change that any time they want to, courtesy of RA . I guess patience will be a virtue...
I can see them doing reasonably well, but I can't picture Chelsea winning the league because they haven't added enough younger talents to the squad, that would get into the first team.
Arsenal need new defenders and a decent back up goalkeeper. Fabianski is a great shot stopper but set-pieces and high balls are still his Achilles' heel. We should have perhaps tried to get Steklenberg as he went on the cheap, but I guess he'd want first team action and with the form Szcszney was in, it'd be difficult for him to stake a claim. We need a natural leader in the team, too and we need a DM, a left back that can defend and a CB. Although, I'd appreciate it more if Wenger focused on the defensive stability because it's easy for teams to exploit the gaps in our defence. Until they learn how to endure pressure and long balls, we will be stuck in the same predicament. Wenger has got plenty of money to spend in the transfer market, he's just too stubborn to spend it and his transfer policy needs to change. If we bought in Adams and Keown and Parlor as coaches, it'd be a huge boost. Wenger doesn't value experience enough and honestly, it's time he changed his meticulous methodology. By him doing what I said above, I guarantee we would be sustaining title challenges and progressing in knock-out cup competitions, frequently.
