If Gonzalez gets himself a good strength and conditioning coach he'll comfortably be a world champ.

Credit to Burns. A great chin and took a beating but still managed to turn it around

Only a matter of time before Burns loses his paper title.

Other lad is a miles better boxer

Just shows how much conditioning is vital

That was $hit from Burns lose that easily

Burns is a 12 round boxer and his strength and conditioning won him the fight.

Burns world class

His chin also won him that fight. The other boy can throw bombs and Burns took them all without getting seriously wobbled.

World champion and deservedly so

That was a fluke, Burns deserved to lose that

Could be ill preparation from the Burns camp, seeing as they hadn't seen any of Gonzalez.

Styles make fights, and Burns struggled against Gonzalez style. Makes me think he'd seriously struggle to deal with Broner's style.

Better man won.

Burns was out on his feet in the 7th round. Was badly shaken up.

Broner gone now by taking on Pauli Malinagi at 147.

Broner will go back down to 140 or 135 after that fight.

Burns legs never went once during that fight.

I think Burns would win a rematch comfortably, as he'd know what to expect now and wouldn't force the issue like he did tonight.

Its hard to drop from 147 to 135. His 135 days are over. Maybe 140 but unlikely as hes close with Garcia and Peterson.

Pretty sure Broner called out Garcia. Only fighter Broner wont fight is Mayweather.

I hear Phil Jones beat up Rooney and now Rooney is out of tomorrow's game.

I believe Broner will be on the lighter end of the scales for the Malinaggi fight, as Malinaggi is the biggest welterweight and isn't the biggest puncher in the world

BBC are saying they matched each other and were even

Think they must have been watching a different fight. The one I watched saw Burns getting completely outboxed and making him look like an amateur.

The only thing that saved him was his chin as he took some big punches and stayed on his feet without ever looking really badly hurt.

I can't decide whether Gonzalez was injured or whether he just gave up as had given everything and Burns was coming back strongly

Gonzalez made a big mistake in the 7th abandoning defence to go for the knockout.

If he'd just continued boxing he would have won a completely one-sided decision or possibly got a late stoppage.

The better man won.

I also think a rematch would be a completely different fight. Burns wouldn't be stepping into the ring against an unknown, wouldn't be as ring rusty or as desperate to impress after having fights fall through, and Gonzalez would have lost a wee bit of his edge and confidence.

Burns would win a rematch comfortably.
