Anyone know the difference between a Freeview box and a set-top box? Apparently you can only get BT Sport on TV if you have the latter.

They have 38 EPL game next season. Similar to ESPN but the cost is £15 per month unless you have bt broadband and then it's free.

As I understand it they have replaced the current package shown by ESPN and would therefore take the late Saturday games?

You can get it through sky for the extra subscription.

I think the set-top box must be the box you buy directly from BT when you subscribe to them. The Freeview box wouldn't get you the games unless you subscribe through a different company, probably indirectly.

My mate works for BT, unlike ESPN's deal BT paid for first choice of games. That means the big games are likely to be BT rather than Sky, or at least more likely than with ESPN who didn't get much choice.

I never bothered with ESPN but when my virgin media contract is up then I think I'll be off to BT.

Sky have 20 first choice picks BT 18 so both will have big games

I do not see this going well, if you're watching a football game because of your broadband connection then you would get really furious if it suffered an interruption during the game. Football's really fast, even missing fifteen seconds could lead from one team going up the other end and scoring.

I thought the whole purpose of the game being free was because you bought their broadband?

The matches arent shown over the internet, it will be through a sky box and other devices(not sure which)

I've got BY vision in (waste of money till now) I'm pretty sure the vision signal comes in via the internet connection

TOOR - I spoke to Virgin last week. They said they're in negotiations with BT and hope to make an announcement about availability through Virgin in the next month. Basically I think it'll be available and probably cost the same as through Sky.

Yeah but I'm not paying more, I already pay for the extra large package with phone and 60mb broadband for around £90 a month.
