Lucas ..
So why was Martinez not a choice for United
But martinez is a trophy winning manager
You're the one who claims a manager is only as good as his trophy hall, not me. I'm just pointing out that by you're reckoning Martinez must be better than Rodgers,as the Spaniard has won a trophy. The fact that you claim Martinez turned Wigan from a safe club into relegation contenders proves you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

it was a retort to the idiotic ramblings of alas...something he then fails to grasp in his next post.
alas, seriously...give up man...you are an imbecile.

so taking an 11th place wigan, with their highest PL points total in 2009 to 16th and their second lowest points tally (only bettered by martinez himself), is ther mark of a good manager? he inherited the team built by bruce after all!! come on alas, this is your logic after all!!
Your a fooking Clown. A club the size of Wigan can not be classed as a safe club. They haven't the resources to compete with most of the premiership. I don't even want Martinez, but how you can put Rodgers in a category above him is beyond me.
"Some of our fans will never have seen another man lead a team out at Goodison."
I get the feeling this sentence is specifically aimed at Alas .
I get the feeling this sentence is specifically aimed at Alas
I wondered how long it would take before Red The Bore got involved.
alas, stop acting like such a bitter little twerp.
i merely pointed out the hypocrisy of your posts.
you give martinez all the credit for everything that happened to swansea, yet absolve him of any blame when he takes a wigan team from 11th to 16th and 9 points worse off...you cant have it both ways.
I can put rodgers above martinez because I see the improvements he has made to the side in the last 12 months. He came with a vast amount of coaching experience at top clubs across europe.
He put his stamp well and truly on swansea and got them promoted....he then went on to make them a "safe" premier league team (they have just about the same resources as wigan!)
In short, he is a better manager.
As for Dr Phils dredging work....yes, i wanted rafa at the time....now i would not swap rodgers for rafa as i see what rodgers is doing. I also thought there was an arrogance from rodgers in dismissing any sort of interview, but later realised this was paper talk....i was wrong...it happens
Alas
"I wondered how long it would take before Red The Bore got involved."
That says more about you than it does me .
You're a hoot on here aren't you? 'Fookin' this, 'red shiite' that. That's about all you ever say on here.
How's the manager hunt going? More managers have ruled themselves out than in. Why aren't they queuing round the block? .
I can put rodgers above martinez because I see the improvements he has made to the side in the last 12 months.
£50 million will make a side better. Can you imagine what Moyes would of done with such amount.
yet absolve him of any blame when he takes a wigan team from 11th to 16th and 9 points worse off
Rodgers record at reading wasn't too impressive was it?

un-Gollum facial surgery I'd imagine

You're judging Rodgers on 6 months at Reading?

Money does not guarantee you success and who knows what moyes would do with £50m...he may be shiiite with money to spend.
we also havent seen what rodgers signings will do yet. coutinho and sturridge have been excellent, whilst allen and borini have not really been fully fit all year.
rodgers record wasnt very impressive at reading, but they didnt really give him very long did they.....we could have conceivably got rid after guiding us to our worst start in 100 years...we didnt...we improved and going into next season we are in a good position to challenge for top 4.
sometimes it takes time....for moyes it was 11 years and counting....maybe united will help him win a trophy or a win at old trafford at the very least
"Can you imagine what Moyes would of done with such amount."
Just imagine how many United rejects he could've bought with all that money? There'd even be money left over to officially change your name to United B.
I prefer United's graveyard but United B also works
TKT
How about wannaB United?
Yes it's terrible bringing in players that have winning mentalities isn't it.
How about bringing in Downing,Carroll,Adam and Henderson, all players who tasted relegation with their previous clubs.Worked well for king kenneth and Liverpool didn't it.Losers joining a club in decline
Nothing wrong with the contribution from downing and henderson in the second half of the season.
In what way are we a club in decline? please do enlighten us oh knowledgeable Dr
Dr Phil
What has this 'winning mentality' achieved, what have your United rejects won?
Downing, Carroll, Henderson & Adam have won something despite 'previously tasting relegation'.
Football, it's a funny old game.
So basically, moyes is able to somehow rid players of this "winning mentality". I think that is a bigger achievment than instilling it into a player. bravo moyes
"So basically, moyes is able to somehow rid players of this "winning mentality""
He's gone to a team full of players with a 'winning mentality'. Is it me or would I be worried if I was a United fan?
United will win far more things with Moyes as a manager than you will win under Brenda.Brendan can't finish above a Moyes team that cost a third of the cost of Liverpool to assemble and with half the wage bill.
Let's face it,Brenda will struggle on till the end of next season and will then be shown the door

So you are comparing moyes's team performance after 11 years of "glorious" achievement to the performance of rodgers team in the first half of his first season.
great comparison...really proves your point
Dr Phil
Now now. We've learnt this weekend, the lack of money excuse doesn't wash anymore.
Why are more people ruling themselves out of the Everton job than in?
Who has said they do not want the job. Who has said they would reject any move made/offer made?
I do know Rodgers rejected the first Liverpool approach. What changed his mind.
