I'm not saying clangers, but certainly some near to him could/should have done better with
The coming for crosses aspect has been patchy too - sometimes superb, sometimes a touch of Brad. He was built up as the sort of keeper who claims everything in and around his 6yd box, but there have been plenty of times he stays put and should have come.
The general sweeping/coming off his line has been superb though
He and Vertonghen (when at CB) seem immune from criticism at times
Ardiles heel - Super Tottingham 5 strikers up front strike force... Golaco gola gola goooooooooooooooooooooooooolllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never heard a 70+ year old man using the term "dissing" before?
Neither have I, it`s not me I am not 70. Who was the 70 year old you heard say that?

Hrh do me a favour
Lloris has barely made a mistake all season. Debateable he should have stopped a few but no real absolute clangers.
______________
So what about vs Maribor or Liverpool away?
Next season`s defence should really be stepping up to the mark, more clean sheets required. Lloris, Walker and Verts are all shoe-in starters, all other defensive positions are up for grabs.
unit kaboul should be back, and we will probably have a new lb.
verts needs to step up his game if he wants me to believe he is as good as everyone seems to think he is. going forward i have no qualms, but he has been poor defensively too often for a man who is supposed to be so highly rated. perhaps i am being harsh, but i have lost count of the number of times he has lost a marker/failed to win his header at a defensive set piece, and he is often caught out of position.
i still think he is a good player and has had a good first season and i look forward to him pushing on next year
Liverpool was 99% walkers fault and 1% Lloris. Would not call it a clanger. Maribor was a clanger but he was nervous then as he was number 2.
I'd give Lloris 8/10 for the season. Imo we made 3 top signings last year in Lloris, Verts and Dembele. If Moutinho was the fourth we'd relaxing ahead of arsenal and Chelsea's 4th place playoff!

and siggy the kid is going to be top drawer
The encouraging thing is that there is room for improvement across the board.
AVB, Lloris, Verts, Caulker, Walker, the LB, Ade
Kaboul and Sandro back
Siggy too - he's steadily settling but much more to come
I like siggy. But I wouldn't put him in the category of the other three.
He could turn into a top signing but at the moment is more potential.
i think siggy has been really good in the second half of this season
i love siggy.
HRH....exactly. we are all critisising players and the manager, justifiably and not being too harsh, but here we are on the verge of a best pts total best goals scored and best away record in +20 years. Few have stood out this season, we had a slow start, understandably, poor window dealings, injuries and carried 2 or 3 key players this season....so encouraging that small improvements can be easily achieved and gains made. Worrying that this is probably how gooners have been thinking for the past 5 years
The proof in the pudding will be in the eating I suppose Devon.
A lot of excuses have been made this season re injuries and not signing 20m+ midfielders, but this has generally been the case beforehand too. We haven't spent big (net) for a good few years, in fact I think we were up on transfers in both Summer 2011 and 2010. Although we sold this Summer, all funds were reinvested - for me at the expense of a slightly worse first XI but a better overall squad.
We have had crippling injuries crises in vital positions in that time too - CB and RB have been areas we have really struggled at beforehand, and although we have has injuries this term it has never really been an overload in any one area. The areas we have done are areas AVB has actually left us light - LB, Wide and CF. He sent Rose and Townsend out and he was happy with two strikers in September (quoted).
If he is the real deal, I'd expect him to identify about 3/4 shrewd signings this Summer (in line with our budget), bring back Rose and Townsend, and have a little trim elsewhere.
We have to be looking at mid-70s points-wise next time round really - we have got in and around 70 for 3/4 of the last seasons, and that would be measure of progress.
"If he is the real deal, I'd expect him to identify about 3/4 shrewd signings this Summer (in line with our budget)"
He can be the "real deal" but have no awareness of who is out there worth signing for his given budget. That is an issue for the scouting network.
The coach has to have some input.
Identifying in which positions players are needed, suggesting targets, picking preferences from any lists the scouts produce.
I do not expect managers to have encyclopedic knowledge of who is available for what position and at what price range.
What you call "shrewd signings" are a reflection of the scouting network. Which at Spurs has been a shambles in recent times.
RDBD.. any of the youngsters ready for next season ?
"any of the youngsters ready for next season ?"
Is Weare "grooming" ??
Some of us think Ceballos is ready.
A decision will have to be made on Obika (squad, PL loan, or gone) .
The rest of the best of the U21s are probably looking at loan outs.

Well he has managed in two countries in the last 4 seasons, has competed in European competition for three of them, and has had a 3 month sabbatical in which he watched lots of football in various countries.
I don't expect he will know everything about every player, but as a supposed avid student of the game you'd expect he'd have a bit of insight to give.
I'd be surprised if any coach knows the price range of players. However, I think every man and his hog knows you generally get more value when shopping abroad rather than from the PL.

Yes.
But again with Spurs it finally comes down to money.
We aren't paupers. Not top-end for sure, but comfortably within the 2nd tier in terms of fees/wages.
As such, any players at a club lower down the pecking order (or indeed in the same tier) should be fair game in terms of us buying
"As such, any players at a club lower down the pecking order (or indeed in the same tier) should be fair game in terms of us buying"
Just want a scouting network again that at least gets the likes of Berbatoss and Modric on the radar quite early.
Said before I wouldn't be averse to a proper DoF being brought in.
To be put off it in principle just by Comolli is like being put off films if you've only watched Fast and Furious
To me the lines of communication and responsibilities look so simple on paper. Getting the actual scouts out and about is another story.
The only issue for me is how do you pay a DoF ??
On actual results (the talent acquired thru his efforts) ??
