Are you sure he's not talking rubbish? There is a fairly lengthy waiting list for a season ticket so seems strange he'd have one going spare to purchase?
But if he can, being at the Emirates is more entertaining than OT, get to see Gervinho doing his fish out of water impression on a weekly basis
No, I don't mean he has one spare. He just wants me to apply for one and seems to think that if not next season I should get one by the season after.
I'd meet up with him and his mates before and after games if I couldn't get a seat near his lot
Did you edit it? Or I am just tired?
I read it as wants to get me a season ticket
By the sound of it, just buy a Red membership and buy tickets as and when, you get pretty good choices, pretty much all Cat C, some Cat B, although rarely a Cat A
Get a Man utd season ticket and go to which ever game you can.
You'd consider getting an Arsenal season ticket
You've outdone yourself on this one
Like you said: football is football.
While you'd certainly prefer a United ST, if it isn't plausible then I see no issue in going to the emirates with your friends…so long as it didn't entail scarves, shirts, nicknames (God, not the nicknames), big cheers etc. the emirates is a lovely stadium.
In fact, the more I think about it, the more I'm sure you're gonna become an arsenal fan and leave us
DON'T DO IT!
You'd be better off signing up to One United and also getting a railcard so it doens't cost you half a months wages to get a return from London to Mancunia
Or if your struggling for time choose a London club lower down the football pyramid, no conflict of interest with Arsenal and United both being in the PL, it'd be cheaper and you get a regular game.
Is Robb the one who loves Carrick?
We're getting Carrick?
What's wrong with the megabus!? £10 return ldn-Manc return, better than £120 or whatever stupid figure it is on the train…

I don't see any issue with going to see them play with your mates, but a season ticket!!!
I think as much as you're trying to be helpful, the issue is that after finishing work at 1pm, a megabus won't get him up to Manchester in 2 hours.
I know a couple of people with United season tickets who go to about 30% of the games and hire them out for the remaining 70%.
Personally, I'd rather watch my own team some of the time than regularly watch a rival team. Especially when you consider that you are paying that inflated price which generates (from a smaller attendance) the league's largest gate receipts for Arsenal.
What if we're playing at 5.15 Tbag
Or if your struggling for time choose a London club lower down the football pyramid

Good call
Or on a Sunday/Monday!? Eh!? EH!?
It's exam time and I've been up since 5:20, leave me alone

Could go and help Leyton Orient out Robb?
Hey, i'd go and see any London side (and have done in the past) but the idea is that my mates (about 3 plus their mates) who all support Arsenal would come before and after games at the Emirates and just have a laugh.
Believe me, if I lived near Spurs and had Spurs mates i'd go see them and the same applies to West Ham.
But I live where I live and if the day comes where I move to Manchester (or have a job in London that gives me weekends off) then i'll get a United season ticket on day 1.
I'm just hungry for any football action (and at least this would guarantee me one United game a season!)
If you can afford an Arsenal season ticket you're on too much money.
why the hell would you waste all that money on an arsenal season ticket?
they're literally double the price of old traffords, probably more
if you're looking to waste money, why not just buy an old trafford season ticket and get to as many games as you can, spending hundreds on train/car fares while you do it
Robb,
you're not the only one that's in that position. As you know, I'm a United fan, however I was born and raised in Tottenham. I usually watch my local team play whenever there's massive games at WHL. And yes, I do have a soft spot for Spurs if that's what you're wondering.
In my eyes, as long as you know you're a United fan it really doesn't matter seeing as you're purely there for the football.
Robb, going to the odd game is fine but a season ticket? No way!
My best mate is a spurs fan and when I'm in london or when they are playing away I go see them with him.
I live in Aberdeen so I watch scottish league games when I've got a spare 20quid somewhere and I'm in the mood for some S & M.
I would never and an ever buy a season ticket for anyone but Utd. Never!!!!!
I will say this about watching the Arsenal - every game is guaranteed to have drama. Arsenal will either score lots of goals and play well, or defend like they've never met their teammates, or both. As far as entertainment goes the Arsenal season ticket is value for money!
