I was never overly impressed with Benitez and still am not. Glad the chapter is over.

The question to ask maybe....how good would Robbie have done..?

I still can't understand why we got shot of Ancelotti

Did you really expect an interim manager to come in and do amazing? he won the europa league, it could of been worse.

He achieved the minimum a lot of fans were asking for at the start if the season. That is a top 3 finish and a cup. So he has done average, our league finish could have been a lot stronger. But it give him credit for how he managed our last 10 games of the season. Definitely had the hardest run in and the FA Cup and Europa to also deal with.

Hasn't he won more trophies than Wenger this season?

Won more than Arsenal did and finished above them.

And he came in during the middle of the season as an "interim manager".

Guess that means Arsene Wenger is a complete and utter failure then I guess.

You summed it up perfectly 'underrated to massively overrated'. He's done far from a good job, but it was not bad either. He was just ok

3rd best squad came 3rd.
And a team that always comes close to trophies won 1 .

There were some calls from Chelsea fans to give him the job full-time

Liverpool fans are the only ones getting touchy.

I'm not bothered when he came in or if he was interim, of course he had his difficulties but it wasn't the most difficult job of all time like he made out. He was managing an amazing squad with so many top players, compare that squad to Chelsea's and Asenal's and it's way ahead. Yet he took them from title challengers into finishing 1 and 2 poinsts above the North London clubs, great management.

I didn't find his comment touchy. Rafa is the master at deflecting his failures after things go wrong, did it at Liverpool, Inter and Chelsea. all this hype will probably get him 1 more decent job, can't wait to see him flop.

Player individual brilliance was more important than him

Whos even been saying hes been amazing, i think he did an adequate job.

If all he could do is adequate we should have kept what we had

I havent seen anyone say he did an amazing job. I think he did a good job under the circumstances that were handed to him. Fans against him, constantly booed at home and away, labelled as an "Interim Manager" which cant help in the dressing room.

Of course he is satisfied with what he has done, you can't blame him for that.

If i was a liverpool fan would i have to attack family members for match tickets ?

Robbie was also an 'interim'

Rafa done ok.

Winning Europa was always about restoring pride and in no way represents a successful season but I think you are being harsh about our opponents. They all have recent champions league experience. Basel for example, eliminated Manchester United from last years competition.

I do think we should have been closer to United but mistakes were made on both sides those first few months.
