Explain?? I would agree with a player that just plays 10 games a season but not one that has played a shed load of games for his club....and medals are what they play for!

Carrick is a good and consistent player but my comment is a fair assessement of his overall performances.

He performs very well against 90% of the teams but against the top top clubs he has been adequate.


His performance against Barcelona was extremely poor. He had less than average performances against Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Liverpool etc....


Simply put, is he good enough to start ahead of Gerard, Lampard? No

No, but he's better at what he does at united than both which is protecting the back four and getting the moves started...Gerrard and lampard are your goal scoring midfield players hence why carrick with one or both is a very good midfield with a good balance.....and yes carrick is a very good player full stop
