But I will say... If India dominate the test arena in the next few years (which looks likely) then all will be ok.
Pollard made more money in T20 so far than Richards made in test cricket during his life time (inflation adjusted). Just staggering.
Sunil Narine made more money in first 4 years of his career than Malcom Marshall made in his entire life time. I can go on. But simple economics. Sooner or later the quality of test cricket will go down due to lack of money in the game so is the viewership and TV rights. It's downhill my friend. Sad indeed.
Stop it, Voc... you`re upsetting me
tests is going to stay. All those legends that we talk about, are all known for their test accomplishments, not t20. Lets be honest. Even though many fans go and watch t20 cricket, you will barely here them chat about that the next day.
What t20 is doing is its giving the cricket the money it needs. Its fact that at these busy times, not many have the time to go to the stadium for 5 days to watch the test matches and that is where I feel t20 helps.
Even the broadcasters in general give tests more importance. They have preview shows and review shows and etc. t20s dont have that. Its not fair to judge tests by how many people go to the stadiums to watch it. What we need to realise is many of us follow on tv.
After 9 overs England still in the game. Hope Morgan wins this and keep Broad out for ever.
viru,
Have you ever heard about hockey test matches? I've been told they were popular back in the day. Not any more by the looks of it.
I read somewhere that Indias 1983 Cricket world cup win killed Hockey in India. India won the hockey world cup in 1975 and were Olympic Gold medal winners in 1980. No major hockey wins for India since then.
England needs a big over now to pull things back.
Can Ravi finish this off?
That short boundary is a joke.
Yet again Bopara fails to take England over the ropes.
Becoming a bad habit for sure.
Bottle jobs once again......
Though England lost two games in a row, both the games were crackers.
Yeah.....entertaining games or sure......
Another little morale sapper before the Ashes...great.
Anyone else got a slight feeling the landscape is changing a bit. Lehman a great pick to fire the Aussies up, just the sort of Player who used to get in the English faces...you can bet he will have the same effect as a coach.
Nothing like momentum...England have none and the Aussies will be lifted by Lehman and watching England lose.
Very tight series beckons...cheeky punt on Australia not such a crazy idea. Slightly worrying times ahead..
Great game. Did not think England would very that close.
Unlucky lads
I'm not having the Ravi bashing
He played another excellent knock and is certainly now a key member of the one day teams.
It was a good batting effort, we were just short on bowlers. Woakes and Dernbach need to go back to their counties, just not good enough at the moment.
Stokes looks better and a little quicker with the ball than I imagined. Push him up the order for the next game. KP comes in for Woakes next game I presume. I also want to see what that Yorkshire lad, Balance is like he looks a power hitter. Related to Patel. Not cricketing wise.
But, Ben Stokes > Woakes > Bresnan > Bopara > Wright > Patel
Best all-rounder in the country.
What annoyed me about Ravi in the last two overs is he didn't push hard enough for the 2's instead settled for the one and thought he'd get the job done. He should have pushed and allowed the youngster Stokes to have a shot, ffs!

We dont need momentum (although we have it with the NZ series win and a ICC final) to beat this lot.
Cant blame Ravi for that. He had a striker rate over 150 i think. The total was just too big Imo but the run out of buttler ended hope. 1 more.ramp shot and England could easily have won.
