I see that Tendulkar is not playing T20Is or ODIs anymore. What is he doing these days? Do you think he will play more test cricket?

I think he'll play 1-2 more test series's and decide then.
Im hoping he'll go out on a high..but looking at his form of late, he may as well just smoke a joint

India get the dull early season games with WI like Eng V NZ but when Pak come in it will be like the Ashes in WI.

Just remember the most famous person from the Carribian is a Pakistani fan in Usain Bolt

Why would people in the Caribbean bother to attend a cricket between India and Lanka? They don't even show up for matches involving their own team!

This is too much meaningless ODI cricket.

exactly robbie84. no fans will bother so why should the players and teams?

No matter what people think, ODIS are the way forward. People just don't have the time and energy got test cricket. The grounds in India, uae, Saffers, windies are all empty. The last ashes in austraila also so half empty grounds for at least 3 days of the tests. Personally love test cricket, but even thd die- hard fan must accept that in another 10 years, ODI and T20 will all but kill off test match cricket.

If test cricket goes then most fans will stop bothering.

Sometimes we have to detach from our own personal preferences to what is actually happening in reality

Say if test cricket goes, why will fans stop bothering? Won't it have the opposite effect? More meaningful ODIS and quick T20 games generating income for counties and cricket boards?

Again, not that u agree with it

Test cricket will continue, I just thing it will be 1-3 tests TOPS for each series, with a majority of the games being ODI * T20's.

Counties have been financially strugglng for years (some on the brink of bankrupcy)..20\20 has helped tremendously.

OnTV you now have T20 games, telived regularly as well as IPL matches. O, probably the woprst format..but its better than NO cricket at all.

also to add..with Multi-Million pounds contracts, now being issues...more and more people will see it as a good career to follow. I do see the downside that Test cricket suffers..but in terms of clubs, the players, the TV...the pro's, far out-wiegh the cons.

T20 is finally attracting arm-chair fans..those who wouldent normally watch test cricket. As much as you may not like it..theres far more of those fans than hardened test fans

This will be the last sell out Ashes in England. If England manages to win the series 5-0 that will be end of Ashes as we know it. As others mentioned, I was surprised to see empty seats during boxing day test in Australia. In any case the crowds are losing interest in test cricket. Now it is up to the authorities how long they can drag on with free tickets, promos, etc. In any case it is matter of when not if.

I barely watch odi cricket.. If test cricket gets marginalised have finished with cricket.Odi bowlers have no chance. Just imagine what will happen in India on them flat tracks and quick outfields.. The record score will be 500 eventually in one odi game... The new rules bahhh

Even SA stopped playing boxing day test matches and replaced it with a T20 as that's what will put bum's on seats.

West Indies cancelled a planned test series with Pakistan so they could play this tri series.

I personally love all forms and don't want to see test cricket die.

On the contrary top 4 highest ODI scores were achieved outside India. India is in 5th place. India's outfields improved lately. Thanks to IPL.

You underestimate the culture of test match cricket in countries other than the subcontinent. You are being very short sighted and somewhat bedazzled by the "quick high" that odi formats give. Just like the IPL, TV`s saturation of odis will bore the crap out of even the most ardent fanboy in the end.

Mate, I'd like to believe in what you said. But the evidence points otherwise. Unless you are hoping for some sort of turnaround.

...and if India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka want to go down the route of just playing odi`s then they can do for all I care.
