I think a top 3 finish would be a good start to Moyes's career at united.
City and Chelsea will battle it out for the title, Spurs and Arsenal will be way behind the eventual winners, and scrapping for positions somewhere between 4th and 7th..
There is so much up in the air.
Will Moyes be able to cope at United? Will Pelligrini adapt to the PL and handle the pressure of delivering trophies? Will Mourinho's return be as successful as the previous time? Will Wenger and the board sanction 2/3 world class signings? Will Spurs keep Bale and buy a top drawer finisher?
It's looking like the most wide open PL title race in years. I'm pretty certain that it will boil down to Utd, City and Chelsea in the end but I'm not sure which team will take the trophy. Could be really close.
"Spurs and Arsenal will be way behind the eventual winners, and scrapping for positions somewhere between 4th and 7th.."
How will Spurs and Arsenal be scrapping for positions between 4th and 7th?
And Bale is staying at WHL this season for certain.
I doubt you'll find a Liverpool fan amongst us who'd argue your assertions on us this season.
Regarding the title race, I can still only see 3 potential winners. Arsenal will have to spend big this summer to have the slightest chance and Spurs don't have the squad to challenge at the moment. Both will be fighting for 4th again.
Between the other 3 it will be a bit tighter and I still expect Utd to be there or thereabouts. A title fight realistically needs teams challenging into Spring and I could potentially still see one of the big guns falling away a bit early.
More often than not it usually ends up a two-horse race. The last time off the top of my head I can recall a 5 team title chase must be 85/86 and even then, it was always heading to Merseyside one way or another.
That in itself shows the rarity of such an event and why it's highly unlikely this year.
Last season's top 3 will be this seasons top 3 but couldn't tell you what order....
Actually last seasons top 5 will remain the same, don't know about the order though.
Arsenal (eventually) getting higuain will help them as he's far better and more clinical than giroud but as long as arsenal don't find a specialist DM and persist with arteta and wilshere/Ramsey they'll always come unstuck against the big teams. All this talk about Fellaini for £22m is nonsense - he's had his best season playing as AM not DM which doesn't solve the problem!
As for my boys (spurs), it's obvious that we won't be a contender unless we get a quality striker in and shore up defensively. Can't be a contender with a +19 goal difference. Still about £50m and 2 seasons away from being in the mix IMO
How will Spurs and Arsenal be scrapping for positions between 4th and 7th?
====================================
Because united , City and Chelsea will finish above them.
Simple really.
One thing I think we can say with certainty is that there won't be five teams battling for the title.
And Bale is staying at WHL this season for certain.
=========================================
He was there last season, had his best season ever, and Spurs finished 5th, which funnily enough, is a position between 4th, and 7th.
Got to agree with jlou1978
It's all well Arsenal fans saying this and that player will sign. At the moment, none of their main targets have joined, have they? Other than some french kid for free.
What's holding up Higuain? What happened to Jovetic?
United, City and Chelsea to contest the title.
I don't consider arsenal as challengers unless wenger proves us all wrong and buys higuain, bender and akinfeev, so therefore as long as Chelsea and the arrogant, childish, pathetic one don't win the league it's all good
Can't see City, Arsenal, Spurs taking it
Down to Chelsea and United.
As for now Chelsea has to prove themselves as a PL team and not only in the EC
United for me
I have a feeling City will struggle at first, but will soon pick up the pace and be challenging.
It's Chelsea's year, IMO. The effect Jose will have on the players/fans will be unreal.
I'm surprised there's been few rumours about Spurs trying to improve their defence. I don't see Paulinho as a good a player as many in here do, but he's a good signing, Villa would be great for Spurs and the Pl, if they can add a top centre half and full back they'll finish above arsenal IMO.

Thats three teams. so are you able to explain how either Spurs of Arsenal will finish as low as 7th?
City will be the favourites. People are writing them off because they had a below par season, but they've still got a fantastic squad and Pelligrini will get them performing and playing much better football than Mancini.
Arsenal and Spurs will finish between 3rd and 5th. Can see one of the new managers having a struggle opening up the possibility of 3rd, but more likely Arsenal 4th Spurs 5th Liverpool 6th.
Don't get me wrong i will be stunned if on the last day of the season you will get the 5 teams with a chance of winning it imagine the nerves!!! but if there all still in with a chance by late march early april it would make it exciting rather then the normal 2 horse race. I'm just saying if arsenal do go out and spend 70m and spurs do buy the right striker it they have more of a chance
be gr8 if it was a 5 way battle....or certainly alot closer for longer than last season turned out....
i'm going.....
1.chels
2.man city
3.man utd
4.arsenal
5.spurs
5.arsenal/spurs
A 5 horse race has never happened and will never happen.
no..your right...but just alot closer wld be nice.....
Don't think Arsenal would properly challenge but I could see them displacing one of the top3.
They were looking very good the end of last season.
top 4 is sorted, Spurs and Liverpool to battle it out for 5th.
A 5 horse race has never happened and will never happen.

Darren,
As I mentioned in my first post I can recall when we won it in 85/86 there was a few teams in the hunt including Utd who looked favourites for a time.
Even then though it withered down to a few by around April and you had an idea it was going to Merseyside one way or another.
It's such a rarity to have 3 genuine challengers right to the end of a season so 5 as you say is generally out of the question. Depending on what you see as a challenge.
The last time I can remember a few with any sort of chance towards April was Utd/Newcastle/Liverpool in the mid 90s and even then it's slightly pushing it.
Someone might correct me on a later season but ai can't remember one.
In 2002 (I think) it was a 3 horse race up til the last few games. Liverpool finished 2nd, Utd third

It just doesn't happen.
D'J,
Fair enough. I stand corrected on that.
Is that the season when you beat us at Anfield with 10 men 2-0?
