Kalou had a knack of getting in the right place at the right time. He will make things happen but at the same time he does tend to lose a lot of ball too. That's my lasting memory of him. Havent seen him properly play for a good 2 years now though

Scott Sinclair, Shane Long and Soloman Kalou up top with Anelka and another new striker as options off the bench.

Maybe.

Anything under five million and I think you'll be getting a very useful player.

Kalou could be a very good buy for you,I would recommend him.Anelka,a great player a few years ago,has he still got the enthusiasm ?could you satisfy his monetary needs ?

very very good if this is true he is the guy i would want in my fantasy football team.

Had a good year and was a decent to good player for us.

For three million I'd have him back here, if he was happy to sit on the bench.

A good squad player.

Ohhhhh exciting.

Didn't seem to figure often for you. But then again I didn't watch every minute of all your games and I guess you don't stay at Chelsea for 6(?) seasons if you're pants. Unless you're Malouda ofcourse.

Kalou>Moses and Yossi.

Kalou is a good lad. Scored goals consistently from the bench which was his best quality. Can be very infuriating and equally can win you the match. 3 mil is a steal

Hope we get him

Hopefully Anelka, if the deal goes through, gets his head down and still has the hunger. I think if he signs for us, it's a sign he's hungry to 'play' as its not exactly like you come to wba for the money. Our tight chairman will have him on basic salary and rightly so.

Funnily enough, Franco Di Santo, another ex Chelsea man has held talks aswell. Thought he was awful at Wigan and generally don't want him.

Complete overhaul with our striker options this year.

Only Shane Long to be retained potentially with Odemwingie, Lukaku, Rosenberg and Fortunè all going/gone.

Baggie, sorry mate I don't want to pi ss on your parade but I never rated Kalou. My memories of him were as a greedy, headless-chicken type of player. Credit where credit is due, he did have his moments with us but more often than not, he was overall a frustrating player. Struggles also to understand the offside law and gets caught a hell of a lot of the time.

However I wish him the best and I hope that if you do get him he will work out well for you. Clarkey knows him well so he may well be able to extract the max out of him. Good luck to you boys for the season.

I really rate Long i think he can be a top striker. Brillient movement.

You should be able to tag two teams now JH.

King,

Long is a beast.

In his 2 previous seasons he has had injuries though that has disrupted to brilliant starts to those seasons.

I like him though. Work rate is untouchable.

Hey, i still think Clarke will get a player off his best pal Josè.

With the arrival of Cavani/Rooney/other + Torres + Ba + Lukaku + Moses, surely not all will be retained

Kalou was a quality squad player. I think he must have consistently got 10+ goals for us every season, or close to that with most of his playing time coming of the bench.

Sometimes he will do an amazing world class run, but end up ruining his shot or cross. Although I think he does this less than what Moses does for us right now, but then again Moses is only a young lad still.

Also Kalou did score some important goals for us, so he has got the tactical nous to keep his movements varied to score goals when others will struggle.

Of he had a consistent good end product I think he could have become a brilliant player, he is not bad now, but some had higher expectations of him when he was younger.

He's had a very good year at Lille apparently.

Thurday's Bham Mail: #wba due to open talks from Gera tomorrow - should be resolved satisfactorily. A will on all sides to do deal (1/3)

Thurday's Bham Mail: #wba will have to almost certainly go down the 'permanent' route with Kalou. Buy out is 3m Euros (£2.6m ish) 2/3

Thursday's Bham Mail: #wba DO have an interest in Malouda. But a non-starter at moment. Might be one for later in summer if he's still free

Forgot about Anelka - looking reasonably positive. But Clarke needs to be convinced of his desire/hunger #wba

Me and my brother have st's at Chelsea and lucky he doesn't go on this forum because he would proceed to tell you how Kalou is the worst player we have had since roman took over! Lol

I won't go that far but he is definitely one of the most frustrating. Did have a knack coming of the bench though and doing something you would not expect him too. And in our possible best teams we've ever had he was one of our poorer players.
Good heart and tried but did look clueless, lost a lot of the ball and also missed some sitters( probably the worst ever miss in the history of football against Portsmouth in the cup final)
