FAF.............................thanks for this bud

A great thread about a great man who took an 'unfashionable(?)' club to greatness.
I clearly remember, back in the day, watching Forest living the European dream. I was 8-10yrs old I guess and sitting two foot away from the tv, wearing my Palace kit, absolutely willing Forest on (in both finals).
Great days for your club and thanks again for bringing back the memories.
I may go and buy myself an old Capri tomorrow.
5 stars

PS.....An observation.

This thread has been here for just over an hour and a half and i'm the only one to respond yet it's one of the best reads I've seen here for a good while.

What a shame. It says a lot about many of todays 'fans' imo. Or maybe i'm getting old. Oh well.

Well that was a very interesting read. Thanks for that.

TUX, I posted it in the wrong section - I though I was posting it on the Forest board but obviously not, although I think I've corrected that now - I'm sure it would get a LOT more views from there! Glad you enjoyed reading at, as I did.

Great read FAF, brings back many thrilling memories. I remember the day we got him .....one of the best days of my youth. I still have a recording on cassette from the TV (mic to the speaker job) of the exclusive interview Cloughie did with Brian Moore on itv when he joined the reds.... Brill just brill.

"to put the big & beautiful city of Nottingham back on the football map"

.......well he certainly did that.

Cracking article FAF

Great read, from a Derby fan.

I find his insights to be incredibly ahead of their time. When you watch his interviews back, particularly that one with Motty when he talks about being 'lectured on a saturday night', they are incredibly applicable now, in fact more so than at the time he was commenting on.

Top man, hasn't been a single manager like him since.

The line about players not worrying about winning!!!!
That's the managers job to worry about.
You lot just do your job & play the best football you can.
Simple. Absolute genius.

Still remember exactly where I was when I heard the sad news in a German beer cellar - sobbing with a German forest fan!

You certainly put forest on the world map Sir Brian.
30 years later & billionaires from Kuwait bought your club because of what you did.

Legend.

Thanks for that, I didn't follow football back then, so this is the first time I've read that! Wonderful

Thanks to Neil Harrison who did all the hard work, he's also known as newarkneil on the LTLF forum.

Anyone up to the job of transferring the rest of BC's programme notes to the internets...? Please?

Clueless!!

"I know I have got the name as soccer's "big mouth" but, deep down, I am an ordinary bloke doing a job of work!"

What the bloody hell is "soccer?"

He was constantly on a programme called "Star Soccer" so maybe it was the buzz word back then

Brilliant stuff - particularly love the part where he tells the yobs to get lost.

Rev, how about his words from his first home game against Derby? Or Leeds? Gotta be an interesting read.
