As long as they keep the cost of forest player at the same level as is currently, I don't see a problem with option a. If games I'm not going to are on the radio and streamed on the web, I will always go for the visual option. I actually don't have a radio in my house, so always listen to away games on forest player anyway.
Don't have a radio
Football on the radio is fantastic!!
My son is at Leicester Uni and listens to games on the radio. Take that away and you take a fan away.
Disabled, people who cannot afford to subscribe will be fans lost.
Bad move to take it away from local radio.
Doesn't bother me for homes games as I'm a season ticket holder but enjoy listening to away games. I won't subscribe to Forest world though so I'll probably take less interest on a Saturday.
This will be bad PR by the club if they remove it from the ordinary fan / future fan
That's incredible Webbo! I didn't know Leicester had a Uni
Forest player is less than a fiver a month. It's ridiculously good value for money, with radio commentary of all games and full highlights too. I would have absolutely no problem if this was the only means of listening/watching games i couldn't get to. I can't imagine there are many fans out there who couldn't scrape together £4.50 per month.
Due to work, cash flow & distance I can only get to a small number of games each season so subscribe to Forest Player for the commentary (£4.99 per month) which I think is great value for money (except during close season!!) and I think the trio of RC CF & JMcG is great. Throw in the occasional DJ & Jason Lee and it's great listening
Yeah the foreign commentators get excited but not in the same way. Anyone who's heard Colin Fray's response to goals against the sheep and it's got to be local radio every time!

I agree I much prefer listening to Colin Fray than the lifeless drolls they normally get on forest player (when they don't use radio Nottingham commentary). Him and DJ last season were an absolute dream team. Hopefully if they do go down the forest player route they could get these guys on board!
Forest get enough of my money as it is.
If they switch to Forest player only, I'll just end up losing interest until after a match. I refuse to pay for something that all other fans of other clubs are getting for free.
Disgusting move for those less fortunate than myself who are struggling to make ends meet.
To be fair, I am not too fussed, the radio is ok and I am happy with it but I am not a fan if we did change providers who would be screaming with anguish if we can get something better, so i'll just keep an open mind.
Oh wait didn't Webb say he wants the radio? Ok let's get rid of it
Got your ticket yet Troll?
Troll?
I was actually thinking about lower bridgford but then you said you were in upper so probs going back to main stand again
And no have to wait till pay day and actually work out if it ends up being cheaper getting a season ticket as don't think there is much in it with adult prices
Annoying as well as Fester and the sheep have under 22 age season tickets whilst ours are under 21
Agree a deal with a major Kuwaiti company... and watch every single game live, for free, on certain websites... Easy.
people complain when we dont make big signings and show our intentions and yet comaplin about having to pay a small subscription fee for coverage via Forest's direct channels. Cant all be one way, the club / owners have a right to generate whatever revenue streams that are reasonable from the club, if we want premiership football and a successful team we should be prepared to accept and pay for items like Forest player to help the club along the way!!
Forestlen, I think people's concerns are where it will end. Look at ticket prices. They have risen above the rate of inflation for years. Yes, Forestplayer is £5 a month at the moment but what's to say once the club have a large number signed up to it, as it is the only place to get coverage of games, they don't double the monthly subscription.
Football clubs have been allowed to abuse their supporters in this kind of way for too long and it is about time we stood up. Spurs and Man City are fighting back against their clubs use of outside ticket agencies following a successful lobby by Schalke in Germany where 10,000 fans turned up to the AGM and forced the issue.
Don't think that is the point. It will only drive away the armchair fan to the Chelsea's, Man U's etc etc. Kids won't see Forest on TV or hear on the radio but will watch MoTD and get converted. I'll give you an example.
Back in the early 70's I moved to Retford. The majority on my road were Leeds fans. Why? because they were always on TV. Forest could be the only team in the top two divisions next season not offering local radio coverage.
False economics for attracting a few 4.95 a month subscriptions whilst losing tomorrows supporters to the big boys.
* the armchair fan being the guy that listens to away matches before you pick up on it
It's a case of 'getting with the times' Webbo. I'm sure I'm not the only person who doesn't have a radio, but has multiple sources for accessing the internet (phone, pc, laptop, ipad, tv) .. which granted, can also provide access to radio broadcasts, but given the choice of listening to a game or watching a game, I can hand on heart say I will never ever go for the radio option, regardless of who's commentating. £4.95 a month is a bargain for being able to watch most forest away games, which I probably wouldn't have gone to in the first place.
Has there actually been a suggestion that we'll lose the local radio coverage if this all goes through, or is it just the original posters theory? Genuine question, I haven't heard anything. Surely we'd still have Radio Nottingham coverage even if the games were available to watch?
The only thing we know about radio coverage is that the deal with Radio Nott'm has expired and they're trying to get a meeting with the club but no-one seems to want to respond to their requests.
I see, so it does sound like they need to sort something else first then. I'd be over the moon if the games were available to watch - I only get to attend around ten games a season at the mo, and I'm not a big fan of radio. Bring it on.
Yeah, we're all different. I can only get to about a dozen or so games a season as well but I'm not a big fan of football on tv. I'd sooner see a game live (I mean by being there) or if not then radio. On the odd occasions we've been on BBC, I watch the match then tune in Radio Nott'm for commentary (before red button days )
