We'll go higher.

It's not about the money. Fabregas does not want to leave and Barca don't want to sell. Reports also stating that United will not make a 3rd bid. So that's done and dusted it seems.

Who next?

Modric?

I think arsenal have told barca that they aren't interested and want to keep man utd bidding hire so they can have 50% of the profit.

It probably has happened, but using 'Sport' as a source? This board has absolutely gone to buggery

Don't get this whole embarrassment thing, do people think we shouldn't go after players just incase they or the club say no?

Hazard and Moura said no, we signed RVP and won the league

Ronaldinho said no, we signed Ronaldo, won league titles and the champions league

Moyes should not be talking about other teams players. It lacks class imho.

£40m

He probably should be keeping quiet on the matter, but in all truth he hasn't really said a lot. The media have done what they do with snippets

This bid was always going to be rejected. Why are people acting surprised. The magic figure was £35 million so lets wait and see if we put a 3rd offer in.

Modric would be a superb signing. Cabaye would be an average one.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Barca will also want to make a 'sizeable' profit on him too.

We are not getting Fabregas. Seems a 3rd bid is not going to be made. I doubt we will go anywhere near 40m. So it's finished now.

Stop talking of things as a matter of fact.

IMO we'll go higher, we've not come this afr to give up.

I think we need him and he will make a BIG difference. A difference so big that i'd pay £40m for him.

In response to whether Utd would make a 3rd bid:

"I think a point does come but I think when you are interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise."

It does not matter what we need. Fabregas does not want to leave. Ignore his comments all you want that is a fact. Barca also would be left short of attacking midfielders. So they don't want to sell. This is going to only end one way.

How the fúck do you get "United aren't making a 3rd bid" from that?

If anything it says "We're interested in a good player and are going to try to make it work"

Whilst the idea of acquiring Cesc's Fabregas gets punters whipped into a frenzy and the OP is rightly derided in his choice of 'reference', i find Moyes remarks in the media quite surprising.

SAF would not confirmed that we have made a renewed bid to the media. I wonder what he was playing at there.

Moyes is not SAF, and probably shouldn't be compared to him.

SAF rarely came out and spoke about anyone. In the time Moyes has been here we've been linked with 2 of the top midfielders in world football.

We must have made about 3 or 4 bids for RVP.

No-one on here is 100% that we'll get Fabregas but to think that United won't offer more than £30 million is insane.

The same Sport who said a couple of Saturday's ago that Thiago to United was all but done.

I think I'll wait for confirmation from a more credible source before believing anything.

It's quite amusing at what you choose to believe OP. If Sport were reporting that Cesc was coming and somebody created an article about it, I'm pretty certain you'd be one of the first people to dismiss the story.

Indeed! It's only football. Doesn't matter to me if no-one comes in and Bebe replaces Rooney in the team.

Life goes on.
