Milan's best hope of qualifying is if Atleti are overawed by the name Milan. Personally I cannot see that happening as they don't seem to fear anyone.
It's a shame that the winners of Juve and Fiorentina's ties will face each other. That could have potentially been a final. Plus it would have given them a better chance with improving the league's rankings if they didn't face each other.

No not yet. Gattuso is the only manager they've sacked so far. The 28th in 11 years.
Unless Milan claw themselves back into contention for top 3 in Serie A, they'll have nothing but a decent CL campaign to save their season. That could make them more dangerous. Wouldn't be the first or last time a side struggling domestically goes far in Europe.
