I hope this is true Mike. One down and three more to go.
Hopefully this doesn't stop us panicking about getting rid of the other three outcasts sometime in the next 6 weeks.
I wonder what the reaction will be of those that wanted McClaren to be our new manager now that he has signed one of our dross to play in a league higher than Wolves. Is his judgement sound?
Good luck to Karl - a fantastic £100k signing for Wolves
That is good news, hope he goes on to find his game again.
excellent news if it is true
not convinced henry has much more of a game to find but wish him all the best and hope we are playing against him next season in the champo (or even better, passing him as we go up and qpr go into admin).
three more to go. i think someone will take a punt on RJ in the champo, althou probably not until later in the window. for a minimal fee and/or heavily subsidised wages there's not a lot to lose on a player who has been decent in spells and awful in others. sadly wolves was one of the 'others'. JOH will be the hardest sell due to his injuries. i expect we will end up cancelling his contract to allow him to sign on a pay as you play deal elsewhere. wardinho will join up with mick and christophe 'the 38 tonne truck' berra at ipswich, again some time in august as mick looks to keep the deal as cheap as possible.
How much are we paying them?
Henry has been a good servant for wolves but not without his own perks (such as wages and reported large annual signing on fee) so he didn't do it for the love of the club.
I also think he held us back when we were in the prem and was one of the reasons we didn't improve and then seemed completely disinterested in the champ. I can't see him being a good signing for qpr and can't see us getting a lot for him. Although we'll never know as it will be undisclosed
If you are reading this, Saint Peter, this is how it is done.
He should ask Peter for a lift, he knows the way.
Not sure who's panicking on this forum and if you actually read the definition of the word "dross" it's alined to the words, waste matter or refuse. I would say that's exactly what KJ sees in these players.
They are not in KJ's plans for the future of our club. End of and posters on here can spin it any way they want, but at the end of the day, the likes of Henry and the other 3 will not play in the first team again for Wolves.
It doesn't take rocket science to understand that all of the players that leave our club will go to a higher league than the one we're currently in. But I doubt they'll ever play in the Premiership again. Whereas with good planning and coaching methods in the next few years, the players we have now will leap frog them all.
Now that is an excellent point, i couldn't care less where we get rid of players to at all, but i would be more confident going forward with the squad we have plus a few additions reaching the prem before a majority of those we get rid of.
I agree with wolfieintheSunshineState (U16306) on this issue. Only a complete idiot would have doubted that the players leaving us would not go to better teams than Wolves. I mean, seriously? Was anybody really that stupid to suggest that?
I think we, as a collective group, need to get behind the lads and take a similar attitude to the 2 posters above...
displaying total blind faith in players that they've never seen perform in a Wolves shirt
Has he gone yet?
Does he need a lift?
Herb I think that's a very unfair criticism of Perton who was telling me he would make a fortune from me by betting £50 a go that the dross would end up at a lower level than wolves.
Anyway it's good that Henry has moved on but I guess we must conclude that mcclaren rates him and would have kept him if he had been appointed here
Jackett may well have decided to keep him too DJ if he hadn't been told at the onset by M&M that he was leaving.
Used to admire what Karl did in the midfield (donkey work and no frills etc) , But the last 2 or 3 seasons have been poor. Time for the old guard to move on ,thanks for the fish ,but bring in the new faces.
Dj I never said that at all I said I couldn't give a sh it where the dross go as long as they are kicked out of molineux and it's started with henry.
Viva la clear out.
Bye bye henry.
Guess the fee.
£500k - £1m
Guess the fee ?
£5000, for the club , and a all you can eat voucher for Frankie and Bennys pizza and burger joint for Moxey.
I think Henry did an excellent job for Wolves until he got all that publicity over tackles on Barton, Zamora and Gomez. Since being told then to reign back on his tackling he has been half the player and on his performances over the last 18 months has not been worth his place. If I were QPR I would tell him to get back to being the player he was and put up with the fact he will get suspended a couple of times a season.
Main thing now is that David Davis continues the progress he has made and if he does then Henry will be no loss (although we have no cover for Davis).
With regard to transfer fees I think anything we get for the Fab 4 is a bonus. I suspect that in order for Championship teams to be willing to take them on at a wage rate they will accept we will have to make the transfer fee minimal.
The Daily Mail are reporting that QPR are to pay £1m for Henry which if true is I think an excellent deal for Wolves
Moxey strikes again!
£1m + a hefty sum off the wage bill.
If true of course
£1m for henry blimey all jests aside that would be amazing if true. Didn't we pay about quarter of a mill from stoke for him? would be a good deal if its all true , if so well done moxey.
