Well he scored less then Negredo and Man City paid £20m for a guy who is arguably better its a close one.

King of the bridge first off Bale has not gone anywhere and if he does we will get a world record transfee fee you plank. Arsenal got absolute mugged off by Barcelona who paid under value for Fabregas. If Bale goes then Daniel Levy will take Real Madrid to the cleaners. Who is Soldado???? Errrr well probably the most consistent striker in la Liga for the past 5 years apart from messi and Ronaldo.... That's who Soldado is.

Soldado is better than Negredo and scored more goals throughout his career.

We paid 17 mil for Paulinho who is 24 and Brazils 1st choice midfielder...... City paid 34 million for a 28 year old Fernandinho who is not even a brazil regular...... You were saying?????

£20m for Negredo for Man City is a better deal than £26m for Soldado to Tottenham imo, he's slightly younger and their records were very similar last season. I am very interested to see how 2 of the most consistent strikers in La Liga fare in the Prem.

Not really much in it to be fair. Both consistent and excellent goal scorers regardless. like I say we make up for it with Paulinho compared to Fernandinho, no brainier who got the better deal.

The only players to score more than Soldod in La Liga last season was Messi, Ronaldo and Falcao. I'll take that.

Negredo scored more.

Soldado still has a better goal scoring record than Negredo

Negredo scored more.

Just checked, yes your right Negrado did score more. He scored 31 goals to Soldado's 30 (all comps) I can live with that.

I am not even wumming, well I am abit.

I think Spurs got a bargain for Paulinho, Chad whatever seems like a decent goalscorer for a midfielder.

Soldado is a good goal scorer but for his age and considering City paid something like £15m for Negredo with add-ons that take it to £20m you overpaid.

Plus you were dealing with a dirt poor club and your not considered big spenders like City are I was a little shocked.

Would you of not rather spend the same money and got Benteke much younger and PL proven.

Benteke, yes and no. He is not really proven he had 1 very good season. Soldado is a proven international striker. Benteke if he does this season what he done last would be the better signing as he is younger but he signed a new contract so we didn't have any choice. Not many good strikers on the market and Spurs have just signed one of the last of them, so I am happy.

Benteke was for sale £25m playing for relegation contenders Villa.

So for more or less the same money who would you take. Soldado the better player now in his prime but maybe only for 3 more years.

Or Benteke, 22 still needs to work on his game but could potentially be a player at the level of Drogba.

King of the bridge, If we would of spent 25mil on benteke we would be getting the same stick " overpaid for a 1 season wonder" etc i would of loved Benteke but as it stands Soldado is by far the better player and I am more than happy with him instead. 28 is hardly ancient old is it.

good it will be soo funny now if Real dont buy Bale.

Levy will be bricking it he would of spent alot more by now expecting income from Bale.

You guys paying this much for a transfer I think is a good indicator that right now Real are discussing personal terms with Bale and bid was accepted yesterday.

The bale transfer is nothing to do with our signings. We were always going to spend money regardless of bale. I think you are getting your info wrong.

Redrob, exactly.... I think rival fans thinking this spending is only because of Bale possibly going is wishful thinking. Bale goes then we buy a top class replacement, end of story. Bale stays then he joins up with class like Soldado and Paulinho. Win win situation for spurs.

Who do you go for if Bale goes though? And surely, if you're going in for a hunt for someone of even remotely the same class, you need to be starting the search very shortly.

Not to mention - Any player that is roughly equal to Bale is going to be playing for a better team than you, most likely. You're going to need to pay enough to convince said person to take a downgrade.

surely someone who can replace bale would want champions league. who exactly is there?
