Which manager would want to replace the teams most important player with another of far inferior ability? Especially when money isn't an option. I think that I would be disappointed with £8million. Because I do not honestly think we could buy a player of Ki's ability for that who would come to Scotland. If Championship players are costing £8million-£12million then I think we would be selling ourselves short.

For example, Sunderland just paid £12million (£8million with installments adding up to 12) for Connor Wickham. A championship player untested at international level.
We have Ki. An established and international player whose country is quite well respected these days.
That is the first thing you mention in negotiations. Sunderland paid £12million, so we'll start there ...
I would value our midfield at at least £35million, honestly.
