Foley was the only player in the starting 11 last night that I would consider to be an experienced pro. Its was obvious to virtually everyone this side of the atlantic that we had a team that was too inexperienced. And that was why we lost.
If you consider players that have played less than a season of games to be experienced then maybe I should take you even less seriously than I currently do
thanks DJ, you always put errant posters in their place with good facts and stats....pleasure to read what you write sir....absolute pleasure.
Yeah, come on Cinci - I would say Griffiths, Foley, Ikeme and Doyle were our only experienced players last night. How can you possibly claim otherwise?
Within most other teams, Griffiths and Ikeme would be considered one of the least experienced!
I would say you are inexperienced until you've played at least one full season.
I wasn't talking about last night, I never claimed that was an experienced side, but Saturdays was 7 to 4 and that's our first 11.
DJ please interject. You know our club better than anyone.
Everyone else was talking mainly about last night's game cinci, especially as the article begins with
"Granted the performance against Morecambe was below par,"
Strange that you think otherwise.
Cyp - Cinci makes it up as he goes along. Did on 606, did on 12 yards and does on here. He dictates the agenda on all articles. I've been reading for ages and all he does is have the last say....
Just got back in town and how unusual to find the Annointed One at it again.
Yes, I'm all for giving the kids a chance, but I've never suggested they all play at the same time.
KJ stated quite clearly that he would not change the squad much and let the team bond together. However with the 3 injuries that we got at Preston changed all that. Sigurdason and Ricketts both had an illness, so the manager played a few more youngsters than he would have liked, I'm sure.
We didn't play well, but this team has hardly played together and it's going to take time for them to gel.
He has both players back from illness, so we should see pretty much the same team that started against Preston.
Always got to nit-pick.
Hi Wolfie, yes Cinci was laying it on a bit thick....quite irritating to read if I am honest. Good to read your view. Makes Cinci look a little daft. Good on you Wolfie!
Give Cinci a break LOD. Wolfie has just said that he was out of town so how did Cinci know what to think!

Cyp - Wolfie was referring to Cinci, I have got that correct then?! Phew....glad Wolfie helps him out.
I actually think this board would be dull without Wolfie and Cinci.
Dunno bout wolfie, but you would miss my common sense.
About the only one who told you guys we would have a very young side
Yeah, who knew that all we would have left would be a load of kids except you cinci?
For some perspective ...... the average age for the team against Morcambe was 21
The average age of the Dortmund team, including a 32 yr. old goalkeeper, that won the Bundesliga in 2011 ......was 22
Dortmund are a quality German outfit that's engineered to perfection !
Wolves have Jez Moxey !
....can you see anything obvious WG ?
Would be interesting to see how young micks first choice ''young and hungry'' side was?
Well well well, so after some research it turns out the magician that is Mick Mccarthy fielded a side that was on average 23 years old..........our first 11 last saturday was 23.8?!?!?!
Shock horror, sits back and waits for everyone to lay into Mccarthy for not having a clue by playing youngsters.
Cinci, I don't know why you and Wolfie have to keep on bringing up McCarthy. He's gone, and it's time to move on.
There's little doubt in my mind that KJ is aware he needs to at least emulate the success of Mick McCarthy, before fans are satisfied, but he is his own man, and will do it his own way. Of course he'll be judged against the man who's been steering Ipswich up the Championship table while we've sacked another couple of trialist managers, and that's human nature. Put the rose coloured specs of nostalgia away, and dream of what is to come.
??? You say you don't know why he is brought up and then list the exact reasons.........Mick is rightly the benchmark isn't he?
Just find it ironic that we are screwed for fielding a side which is actually older than one which got promotion to the premier league.
That was an exciting year, I'll agree. You're making me all nostalgic.
Irrespective of the progress we've made since MM was relieved of his duties, I still hanker for those days secretly.
They will come back Bute, no worries about that, just when will be the question.
