plus his confidence looked suspect the whole game
I'm hoping he's Man United's weakness this season
he had no command of his penalty area. Struggled all game to give instructions to the back four as no one even cared to listen to him
Yeah, he is hopeless ain't he, United should sell up right now. I mean, if you don't play well in your first game then you plain and simply cannot cut it can you. He will never improve so what is the point. Like, he is 20, coming towards the end of his career and will never learn English in time to communicate with his back four. He is only going to get weaker physically. What hope is there.
Absolutely agree OP, 1 star for you!
Second most expensive goalkeeper of all time. It's a gamble, big stakes.
I've only seen him play one game, so won't pass any judgement until I've seen at least a season.
by the time you see a whole season he would have cost united the title
...Also, anyone else tickled by the irony of a Chelski fan mocking another team over a players transfer cost and performance??
Nothing like desperation from a chelsea fan!
even Harrys missus would caught the dzeko goal.
Poor poor keeper
He did mistakes but he did really well in his distribution.
The first goal was Rio's fault. If it was anyone's fault at all. It was just a great free kick from Silva.
The second was his fault, but Vidic could have closed down Dzeko (sp) way better.

Really? Put a bet on it then if you're so sure. I'm not, and am confident that if a host of keepers, international included, say he's one of the best potentials around, I'll go with their judgement until I've seen otherwise.
If he's a poor keeper - i'm a monkey's uncle
He'll improve

How's Essien holding up? When your season collapsed after his last injury, you should be more worried about that, than a United keeper surely?
essiens being replased.
Did anyone see him repeated tell rafael to go forward but he never listened to him. He just kept looking at de gea as if he was saying 'what the hell is this crap keeper saying'
"essiens being replased."
Good luck with that!
Didn't Chelsea buy Pastore?
Oh no, he turned them down for PSG
to be honest, i think its 20m down the drain. i just cant see de gea coming back from this. he must be mentally shot after the two clangers he dropped yesterday. the only way forward now is to sell him back to atletico for 2-3m and make a 20m bid for ben foster.

Textbook model of Chelski's transfer policy
He'll be a good keeper. Personally think he could have done better for the goals, but it's unbelievably stupid to judge him on one appearance. Most of the Chelsea fans think the OP is a numpty anyway.
Not every young goalie is like Cech who can burst onto the scene, De Gea will come good in around 1 1/2 years.
