They are having a go at the ref? Did they mention Clichys handball or Cesc NOT being offside?
They claim Navas was fouled before the goal - he dived
They claim the penalty foul was outside the box - he clipped him on the line = penalty
Add to that the Cesc goal and Kolarov's two footed challenge, which if it had been in the big bad nasty big man tough rugged Premier League........would have probably been a
Navas was clipped imo, but he exaggerated it because he was running into a blind alley, and that is maybe what made the ref think he hadn't been fouled. Fwiw, Spanish TV also thought it was a foul and that the Demichelis challenge was outside the box. I feel Kompany should shoulder most of the blame. Without his schoolboy positioning, Iniesta wouldn't have been able to feed Messi the ball and neither Navas nor Demichelis would have been thrown into the spotlight.
Clichy's handball would've been a penalty in most cases had it been the away side defending. I think the ref simply bottled that one, but you could also give him the benefit of the doubt thiking he didn't see it.
The tackle was outside the box imo, and Cesc's goal should have stood, so, all in all, a lot of wrong calls.
That said though, it was a tough game for the ref tbh. The controversial calls were all pretty hairline and he was unlucky to get each one of them wrong.
Kompany gets praise for dashing around the pitch making dramatic tackles, but like you say IOAG, his positioning and therefore City's shape is affected by this.
I thought he was great for most of last night, but that shouldn't hide the fact that his was the biggest mistake imo. There was also another suspect occasion relatively late in the game where he charged out of defence, ran into trouble 2/3rd into his own half and tried to step-over his way out of trouble in a very dangerous position for his team. He somehow got away with it, can't remember how, but it was really reckless.
I'm not surprised that City's defense was there for the taking, our firepower is overwhelming. But I am surprised our defense held but it's imo because Aguerro didn't play, he would have run havoc against Pique, luckily it was only Negredo and Dzeko, both way too slow to cause many trouble, even to the likes of Shakirazo.
Bar a few weird but normal for him dives Valdes looked good, that save on Silva's shot was class, if he had deflected that ball Negredo would have tapped it in, definetely a solid performance.
Otherwise City didn't create much, had in the pocket for most of the time, they didn't give us a proper match.
ioag, I think it was out, he tried to stepover Messi and Sergio if I'm not mistaken, got lucky the ball bounced off him to the outline.
There's little talk about PSG, Zlatan in fabolous form, I really think it's going to be a challenge to knock them out this year.

That really was the play of the game imo. The beautiful switch of play from Yaya, Kolarov's (?) first-touch set of for Silva, Silva's cheast and volley, and Valdés' save. Perhaps unfortunate for Silva it fell to his weaker foot, but it was still a thing of beauty.
Zlatan, another real corker last night...that's how you use your weaker foot!
How are you and the rest of Spain enjoying life without the Stagnant One, IOAG?

hmmm I thought it was a clear pen like I said in another thread. The initial contact was outside the box but it continued until well inside the box and if the ref enforces the rules then it is a stonewall pen. I have no idea why people seem to ignore this obvious fact. The ref got that decision spot on.
As I've said, I wouldn't hold it against the ref for getting it wrong, if indeed he did. I'm not really interested in that debate tbh, so I don't know know I've spent the whole morning discussing it.
But for discussions's sake...it looked like a clear pen live, replays cast a doubt in my mind as to whether it continued inside the box (I got the impression in one replay that DM followed through with this other foot, but I wasn't sure enough to tell ), but then I saw it again later at normal speed and it still looked inside the box.
Come off it ioag It's the only thing that has consumed your mind today! I knew from the word go that it was a clear pen and all the replays just confirmed that. The outrage from Pel and the City fans is just ridiculous.
I've also been busy arguing Maradona to be better than Messi, and Barça 08/09 to have been the side I've most enjoyed watching in my lifetime.
So far that is, I fully expect Real Madrid to win another 5 European Cups on the trot with a team made up entirely of academy kids, one of which will go on to be considered the GOAT despite having been 8 foot tall at the age of 12 and artificially shrunk to lower his centre of gravity.
I think my glucose levels are depleted.
People confuse not having a plan B and not having a 'lump it to the big man' plan.
