This article got me thinking:
http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/222854
"If you are to name the full 25, eight of them must be homegrown - this doesn't mean English, but players which have been registered at an English club for 3 seasons between the ages of 16 and 21."
"In effect, it means you can ONLY () have 17 non-homegrown players in the 25."
Seems Spurs fans could have trouble doing that, otherwise I don't understand the point of the article.
Anyhow, it made me look at our own squad. 16 of our current 26 would qualify as 'homegrown' under that definition. In fact, we'd actually need to complete the signing of Bale to even be able to field a starting 11 of 'non-homegrowns'. Hell, without doing the numbers, we've probably got more academy players currently in our 1st team squad than Spurs have 'homegrowns' outright.
Real Madrid are clearly no exception as far as La Liga goes. In fact, I'd imagine they're among the Liga sides with fewest 'homegrowns'.
Wump, transfer fee isn't a problem - but we're not paying any of his wages. Therein, I imagine, lies the problem.
I thought City were inrerested?
I don't know where those rumours came from, but if Marca/AS were behind them it was probably just an attempt to stir up some sort of interest. Getting rid of him would be great - actually getting a fee for him would be the stuff of dreams.
Actually no, the stuff of dreams would be Barça signing him.
if barca signed him, i'd actually start to like pepe a bit
Barca needs to get Vertonghen or Luiz, time is running out
They will come for Koscielny and we will tell them to give us Messi in return or stick their cash up their behinds.

That will happen either way Understudy
Peks, what's the story with your brother, he still at Liverpool, and is he confident of getting more minutes this season?
I imagine there aren't any takers willing to equal his salary
-------------------------------------------------------------
Or afford a cage strong enough to keep him in.
Luiz's links getting stronger, time to land the wild beast and cruise through laliga and win cl
Tha'ts true..., I don't think Spurs are the shoe-ins for fourth everyone claims. Expect it'll be Arsenal. Again.

he's a first year scholar with the u18s this season
i dont think he'll start many matches tbh, as sinclair when he's fit, and a spanish lad they've signed from barca (sergio canos) seem to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
In his other position wide forward ..there are other lads ahead of him there too
he's been a regular starter and one of the most important players in his age group from when he started as an u9, until now
like all players, he needs playtime and the confidence in him by the coaches to improve and develop...so i think tbh he'd be better off maybe trying to find a new club..
he'll be a scholar for 2 years at LFC and then either sign a pro contract with them (looks doubtful to me at this point) or released
there's another spanish lad who LFC signed in the summer for the u18s, pedro chirivella from valencia.
he's a midfielder and was the spain u16 capi apparently
i watched him played for LFC u18s recently...he's a v v v good player !

He's definitely better than Borini.

...at more or less the time Atleti will need a striker to replace Villa...
Any idea where Uppy's got to?
he's on the good news thread.
he hardly posts on the la liga anymore
I hope your brother can get a pro contract somewhere Peks! My friend has just got a pro contract with Kidderminster Harriers
Ahhhh, La Liga not glossy enough anymore for the gloryhunters.
he hasnt posted on this thread for 4 weeks !
understudy...i hope he gets a contract at some club in the next few years..
all those years of training for hours after school and travelling to and from the academy etc, better be worth something
