The man built a stadium for them without it affecting their status as a top 4 team. He also has a financial ethos which most clubs could do with. I can never fault him as a manager. There are clubs like sunderland with a far greater net spend who wish they had him. And mark my words, the next manager to come in, NO MATTER WHO HE IS, will struggle to replicate what he has done in arsenal. I would like him to spend 200 million in 2 seasons and still fail to win anything before I judge him.
Still got Suarez in your name RGS?
No manager can guarantee a trophy.
The thing is , even when we got to the freakin' CC final, it still didn't feel like we were going to win a trophy.
Personally, if he doesn't spend big, and doesn't win anything, then he needs to move on.
If he does spend big, and we see actual improvements, and we actually look like a decent team set to winning trophies, that's good enough for me.
I can never fault him as a manager.

You can certainly fault him as a winner.
Even his coat has outgrown him.

David Moyes
He's done well to consistently get top 4, even when it's looked to have slipped away. He doesn't seem up for the fight to go all the way anymore though
If you asked me Flashy, would I swap our move to The Emirates, for say 2 league wins, an FA Cup and a CL, I would say no.
Moyes wasn't expected to win trophies at Everton RGK so we can reserve judgement. Wenger has been no better than Moyes for 8 years.

You mean apart from spending less but finishing above them every year, right?

But Wenger was building (or declining) from a position of strength, whereas Moyes elevated Everton from relegation battlers to a regular top 6/european football team.
It was a lower Net spend Arsenal have. You have recouped a lot of money from selling your best players to bigger clubs.

How long can you use that argument though? Surely after finishing 6th in 2007, Moyes didn't really improve on that?

Where was he supposed to go? Look at the teams above him.
City.. Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs... then City.
Everton were never going to attract the calibre of players to compete for the title.
...and I don't think the 'net spend' figure holds that much sway given the calibre of players Wenger allowed to leave.. How many RvPs, Nasri's, Henry's, Fabregas' etc did Everton have to sell since 05'?
Hm. They finished 4th in 2005, since then they have spent more than Arsenal, but have failed to catch us.
So although yes Arsenal have fallen from title contenders to 3rd/4th place contenders, Everton never really pushed on.
wenger's over rated anyway
think he should arsenal next season
"since then they have spent more than Arsenal, but have failed to catch us."
Have they actually spent more, or have they spent more in terms of ins/outs?

A few.
Rooney the year before. Lescott, Rodwell, Arteta, Andy Johnson all sold for fairly sizeable fees
Man Utd would cut their arms off for Wenger

How many did moyes develop? All those players you listed came in at a transfer fee of not more than 30 million and are 3 of the best footballers to grace the league ever.

In terms of pure spending, we've spent more I would guess.
But it's unfair to exclude sales. From a footballing point of view, selling Nasri, Clichy, Cole, Fabregas, RVP, Vieira, Thierry Henry, Hleb, Song, Adebayor, Toure affected us massively.
