DM reporting it too...http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2395174/Manchester-United-want-Willian-offered-Mesut-Ozil.html

They say we are his preferred destination and that Madrid have offered us Ozil for 40m

Don't understand why we would suddently move for an Attacking Midfielder/Winger when we have clearly been courting a deep lying central midfield player, and have plenty of options in this area.

Can only see us moving for a player within this realm, if one of our Wingers (Young, Nani, Valencia) were on the way out as he wouldn't really be a like-for-like replacement for Rooney, if he were to go.

Don't see why we'd need him, especially when we have Kagawa who I think is a better version of the assets that he provides (although, perhaps a slightly more direct one).

Also doesn't seem like a very 'United' type signing in terms of a) type of player and b) type of team we sign from.

Signing Willian would prevent our younger players like Kagawa and Januzaj getting more time.

Rather we buy Ozil instead of Willian tbh. Especially if the rumours of him being offered to us are true.

Kagawa is really going to have to perform... a lot of hope rests on him judging by most peoples comments on here.

It just doesn't make sense May, to have two of the same player (with one on all known performances, not to be as good as the other) when you have more pressing issues - does it? Considering we don't need Willian as 'backup'.

Yeah, i am getting worried about the transfers though, all the cms that are perfect for us are seemingly unavailable

But the answer to that problem isn't to sign a Winger/AMC. I do agree that a CM is a priority, but that doesn't mean just anybody should be signed.

Maybe others just want a signing of any kind

The occasions I have seen him play, I was very impressed... top quality.

We didn't "need" RVP, but it sure did help.

In that case, it's whether you think Willian would be considerably better than the current options, and I don't from what I've seen.

In other news, the reliable Cadena Ser are reporting:

@barcastuff: Despite a report in the English press, Barcelona have no indications that Man United are preparing another bid for Cesc Fabregas. [ser]

Shameful journalism from The Telegraph

Willian is a good player, he is better than young, valencia and cleverley, improvement.

After a CM a LW is our priority IMO. Other than Giggs we actually have no left footed left wingers, ideally Kagawa will be played centrally and for me Januzaj isn't ready. That only leaves us with Nani who I want on the right and Young. Willian is a far better option on the left wing than anyone we currently have.

Willian won't be going to Liverpool, he's letting the top 4-5 clubs in the league that he's available and would like a move to the Premier League, he's good enough for a Champions League club or at least a club who will be likely to be in the competition next season.

We need a left winger.

Yes, we have 4 wingers in Nani, Young, Valencia and Zaha. Yes, 3 of those can play on the left. But Zaha isn't ready, Young has his injury problems and in my mind should be sold and Nani is better on the right competing with Valencia.

Sell Young, bring in William, problem of too many players sorted. I do think Young would do better at a club like Tottenham or lower than anyone in the top 3.

Lmao.... oh, this is a real discussion?

The only reason I can think of that young hasn't been sold and replaced by a much better player is that no club has made a bd purely because there not prepared to match the astronomical wages he is on at the club.
