think we should just concentrate on getting 3pts and save the cockiness for after the game lol.

Depends how Hughes sets up. If he tries to play football we'll destroy them, but he'll probably be quite defensive and we'll scrape a narrow win.

FYI, home vs Palace is the easiest game we could have gotten.

Its impossible to tell what will happen, whether Hughes will change it all up, try to get them playing football, which could be a disaster, or stick to what they know and try to change it over time. I'm reasonably confident, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did get a result.

no way, we struggle against physical teams

No fixture is easy. If we aren't completely focused they will beat us.

I bet 0-0 vs Stoke is our first or second most common score line against a single team in the Prem era.

Stoke will set up for a point, defend, defend, defend likeso many tems do, its the reason we draw so many home Games.

This game will tell us if we now have the nous to open up teams like stoke and put them to the sword. Utd have done teams like stoke for yrs by attacking, attacking and attacking...they have won titles on their home wins. We need to start doing the same, keep attacking, keep stretching them.

We should beat them, sturridge, coutinho, aspas, gerrard, sterling all have goals in them....lets hope we score 3 or 4.

Some of the stats on bbc match preview are surprising. We haven't won at anfield on the opening day sing 2001, and stoke have never scored at anfield in the premier league. All the signs point to 0-0

Yes they are a poor team, we should be up for it and try not to get into a physical game with them. Early goal always helps. Good start is essential and we haven't had one for a few years

If they beat you tomorrow this will look bad

Thanks captain obvious

On paper, Stoke at home is certainly a nice fixture to start with.

Hopefully, we will still be saying this after the game tomorrow.

My apologies I did not mean to seem arrogant in anyway.

I meant to say it as on paper of all matches you could choose on the opening day, would Stoke at home be the easiest you could imagine.

Not saying it will be easy but on paper I think it's best to get a transition team early on.

Stoke has been one of the hardest fixtures for us the last few years. They are so hard to break down, particularly away from home. I think because we are missing Suarez and Sturridge itll be 0-0.

4-0.

I think they will miss Tony Pulis more than they realise. Hopefully, especially after the game tomorrow. It is too difficult to predict the result. We can only ask our team to play their hearts out and secure a win. Nothing less.

When it's 2-0 I'll start to relax
